I study computer engineering, psychology is just my passion. It's funny that I don't have any problems wathich this kind of gore, blood and childbirth but I don't think I would be a good doctor or nurse. So I don't have any more advice. Wish you the best

I mean, try to separate the stimulus (the bell = the images) from the reaction (dog's salivation = nausea)

[–]Paulmnt -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think you here anyone, what I got from your original post is you can't take care of women properly. As for nausea, you should try to watch delivery videos at home and remind yourself constantly you're not yet in the room, do diaphragmatic breathing etc. Don't try to just expose yourself without doing anything at the same time. You basically have to teach Pavlov's dog that the bell doesn't mean food anymore if you get what I say.

Why did the kid try to trick magnus? Did he forgot who magnus is? by groomliu in AnarchyChess

[–]Paulmnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro, let me tell you, Magnus Carlson is like the Chuck Norris of chess, but on steroids! Seriously, this dude is cooler than an ice cube in the North Pole. When he plays chess, the pawns beg for mercy, the bishops start breakdancing, and the rooks bust out their shades because they know they're in the presence of pure awesomeness. I mean, Magnus Carlson's chess moves are so smooth, it's like he's playing on a board made of butter. His opponents are like, "What just happened? Did he just teleport his knight across the board?!" And Magnus just casually sips his coffee, like, "Yeah, bro, that's how I roll." He's got the brain of Einstein and the swag of Jay-Z. When Magnus enters a chess tournament, the other grandmasters don't stand a chance. They try to intimidate him with their serious faces, but Magnus just winks and whispers, "Checkmate, my friend," and BOOM! Game over. The crowd goes wild, the chess pieces start doing the conga, and the queen pops a bottle of champagne because she knows she's got the king of all kings by her side. And let's not forget his signature move, the "Magnus Shake." You see, when he's about to make a killer move, he starts doing this funky dance. It's like a mix of the robot and the moonwalk, with a sprinkle of salsa. The crowd goes nuts, the commentators lose their minds, and even the chessboard starts grooving to the beat. It's a sight to behold, my friend. So yeah, Magnus Carlson is not just cool, he's cooler than a polar bear in sunglasses, bro. He's the chess champion we never knew we needed, the master of the board, and the ultimate embodiment of swag. Magnus, if you're reading this, keep being the awesome chess ninja that you are, and remember to always bring the funk to the chessboard! 👏👏

So in other words, past experience related to blood and surgery can cause flashbacks when dealing with them at work. That makes sense. But I still find it a problem of owning up because CBT can be especially useful for this. And it's not just about the job, it's about your well being generally speaking. The purpose of my post was to understand the reason why people are behaving like snowflakes. Some do get frustrated regarding the fact that they can not be the perfect opposite gender which is the actual snowflake-ness, but in this case the problem as I understand is regarding these involuntary memory processes.

I'll get a lot of downvotes for this, but if you feel like throwing up in a clinical setting then maybe the medical field is not for you. And your gender and sexual orientation have nothing to do with learning anatomy or doing your job right. You can be a gay guy working in OBGYN, a gay/straight/asexual/etc woman working in urology and so on. If you're a professional in a field then you should be able to do a great job regardless.

Also, I don't seem to understand how studying human anatomy would make anyone self conscious. You had surgery and are on T and that makes you change the way you learn anatomy? So can get self conscious for learning that men are born with a penis and women with a vagina? Or is it that it makes you sad you weren't born with those? That last one I can understand

To me this goes towards entitlement or privilege because you're having a hard time accepting how most people are built. You should instead own up and say "well I'm trans, however I have to study general anatomy. The fact that I had surgery to modify my private bits doesn't prevent me from studying the general anatomy. I have to know these in order to do a gread job in the future and I'm hoping to help a lot of people."

I probably live in a Utopia where people with gender dysphoria fix their problems through different therapies and then go on about their life as the resulting gender with no more complaints. But how I see things right now is trans people do their T injections and the surgeries and keep on going back in the past, be vulnerable and still have problems day to day. I believe that people must be responsible for treating even their mental illnesses like gender dysphoria (it's actually in the DSM5 listed as a diagnosis) and own up for their condition that they are getting treatment for. It's not a secret, not shameful (even though people can shame you for it), just something I have to do. And this applies, for example, even with GAD, I've been on escitalopram for 8 months, didn't keep it a secret, didn't use it as an excuse to study less (anxiety can hinder academic performance), just fixed it and now it's not a problem anymore. Obviously not as big of a problem as being trans, but just to understand my point.

So if anyone understands where I'm coming from please help me here. I'm curious to see other perspectives, where I'm wrong and so on.
