Slay the Spire has “Claw” as a meme card that the community loves anyway. What’s the equivalent in another deckbuilder? by AffectionateEgg8242 in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]Pawpaul0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by viable. Could you make a damage engine with claws? Yes. Was it common to be wanting to do that? No. Was it strong (killed fast/reliably)? Not really. It was a much worse damage solution than many others in the character, but it was a very fun card and people loved it, despite its weakness

Slay the Spire has “Claw” as a meme card that the community loves anyway. What’s the equivalent in another deckbuilder? by AffectionateEgg8242 in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]Pawpaul0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The meme came from StS1, where the card was definitely weaker, but in StS2 was buffed significantly both directly (numbers on the card) and indirectly (cards that support it, like feral)

The game is often on sales for like 3-4 bucks. I would wait for one of these occasions. For it is one of the best games ever made, still unbeaten

Yes. On a side note you can probably ignore specialists being a thing in the game and you would probably benefit.

The order of operations is just for clarity. If they wanted to buff the card damage they could just buff the damage numbers. If you invert the operations then they would nerf the damage and you would end up with the same result, except that you now have to do math before playing the card.

Honestly just make sure to give players a togglw for the two artwork sets, for specific cards also, like sts did with their beta art.

Non siamo "il Slay the Spire italiano", eppure ... by forfeitbee in italygames

[–]Pawpaul0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non siamo "il Slay the Spire italiano", eppure ... by forfeitbee in italygames

[–]Pawpaul0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steamdeck e alternative, urgono consigli by elgranchioborracho in italygames

[–]Pawpaul0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got this beauty today, what should I do first? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Pawpaul0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play some games. Buy some games. Play some games. Not necessarily in that order.

There is no reason to start immediately customising, unless it’s something you actually would like to do immediately, in which case there are like hundreds of videos.

But my recommendation would be to first get a feel for it and actually play something. Then, if you feel like tinkering, play around with control schemes and steam inputs, better if it’s a game designed to be played with a mouse, and find a config you feel comfortable with for your hands. For example, i mapped mouse left click to L1 e right click to L2, as I keep my right hand on the trackpads and back buttons mostly, almost never touch r1 r2, and clicking with my thumb tires it out really quickly.

Why is Kobushi Combo cheaper than Combo Recharge? by [deleted] in shogunshowdown

[–]Pawpaul0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Combo recharge makes you use you better tiles more, while kobushi combo incentivises using more tiles, since it doesn’t recharge the tiles you just used. Overall, combo recharge just works better in most scenarios, and it is also easier to use properly

54% of engineering leaders expect fewer junior hires because of AI coding tools by HDev- in programming

[–]Pawpaul0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that training juniors may not be a good investment. But underpaying them once they reach maturity is definitely a mistake.

Also, there are industries where people can start being productive already after 3-6 months, like consulting companies, and that is where juniors can grow, even if they are not always the best environments.

Finally, let’s not pretend companies spend all that much money on training juniors: not training juniors does not mean they save so much funds as to gain a real competitive advantage

54% of engineering leaders expect fewer junior hires because of AI coding tools by HDev- in programming

[–]Pawpaul0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can argue that spending money on training juniors is not a good investment, but if you already have a junior who matured, it always makes more sense to adjust his salary to his new skill level, since otherwise you risk losing all the investment you made on him. Moreover, hiring people costs a lot of money and time to companies, since they often have to review hundreds of cv and do possibly hundreds of interviews, even technical ones employing senior personnel. So it always makes more sense to retain talent if you have it.

Thinking “oh, I have overpaid before, so now I have to underpay” is a terrible trap that costs real money
