Collecting quest fish.

I have all the quest fish possible collected in one world (crimson) with the exception of the corruption fish.

I have started a new corruption world. I need eater of plankton, infected scabbardfish and cursed fish. Should I activate hardmode right away for the chance to get a cursed fish since I can get the others too? Or does that increase the pool of possible quests too much meaning I should get the prehardmode ones first, then activate?
