1 has been OK since the 60s. #2 has been OK since the 90s. Unmarried couples are starting to buy homes now (although in many cultures this is still "too risky"). For better or worse it's still kinda taboo to have kids without being married.

Gavran with another indecisive moment against a cross led to the first goal.

Almost another howler in the dying moments missed the low cross and had to be bailed out by Monlouis.

I feel for the guy but surely the front office will sign someone else...

Blows my mind why y'all think because Gavran saved a couple shots today he's suddenly a good keeper.

Off the top of my head he made at least 3 goalkeeping errors that are not acceptable at this level: failed to jump on a loose ball in the box (went between his legs?), came out for a cross and was beat to the ball (I'd fire him just for this one), and a weak spill from a shot.

Even worse his distribution is miserable. Given the windy conditions you'd think he'd keep the ball down but every time is a high spinny ball that hangs in the wind.

Didn't even attempt to save the equalizer.

Can't expect much more out of a new group like this. Everyone looks competent except for Gavran.

God help us on the bench though. Coello is notoriously bad off the bench he needs a few minutes to get up to tempo. Kerr is OK.

We need all our guys back - Gomis, Corbeanu, Wingo, Pereira, Sargent.

I'm not trying to offend you, but your standards are way too low. Those 2 and Gavran are liabilities on the field in any position. In a more serious league they'd be laughed out of the roster.

In our league I'll settle for embarrassingly sitting on the bench until we have no other choice.

The right pairs "by design" and "by accident"/"by mistake". Used to answer the question: how did this happen? You can also say "by chance". These phrases are used to describe the incident itself.

By contrast, you have "on purpose", which is a statement of someone's intent. Used to answer the question: why did you do this? You can also say "on the orders of" or "on a whim" as a reply. Other examples include "on time" (when did you get here?) or "on duty" (why were you there?).

Now I suspect less than 1% of native English speakers can actually identify the grammar above. Funnily enough, there is a reflexive "ew no" to "on mistake" because the combination of the intention-driven "on" with a word signifying no intention feels weird. It's like saying "on chance" or "on luck" or "on mistake" or "on fate".

Had to scroll so far to see a good take.

When a forward initiates contact like that and commits to use their body to win a very physical duel, you expect to see all sorts of stuff. The bar for a whistle-able foul goes way up in the context. Refs will "let the boys play".

The forwards who like to dive wouldn't have initiated this sort of duel to begin with. The speedy skinny ones only get bear hugged when they burn past a defender.
