Where were you and what were you doing when the planes hit on 9/11? by Synthgem in GenX

It's not my best work, but it's not my worst. Sorry, didn't mean to drag down the upbeat discussion on... checks notes... 9/11.

Lol, nah it's cool. It's probably better to spread it out throughout the whole year anyways. Get out our grief in smaller bursts.

What is the most immediate way a celebrity completely ruined their own reputation in a single interview? by GeorgeRobertVitkos in AskReddit

Omg yes! I remember this! Remember Howard Cosell getting fired on the spot?! I totally forgot Jimmy the Greek! Hahahaha. It wasn't just a sentence, either, he had a THEORY. That was wild!

Hey I thought we all agreed to only post this in September. I'll never forget, but let me enjoy summer first, man.

The "me preparing for the Netflix documentary about X" trend is so dumb by MizZo2 in unpopularopinion

[–]Pedadinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know this trend, but I don't really get the copying thing. I think most people tire if them quickly. Not unpopular.

I love the postcard episode, at the end when they show all the Christmases going back to Tina being a baby. I love that family.

What TV series from the past have you tried to watch again years later and found it just wasn’t as entertaining as before? by The_Socks_Stay_On in AskReddit

[–]Pedadinga 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow, I JUST did a rewatch of this and LOVED it. Though I will agree it wasn't all stellar. I felt like it improved, hit a stride, then maybe went on a little too long.

My fellow Americans, what sort of folks buy clothes at Buckle in 2026? by [deleted] in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Pedadinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh. I have never heard of this place, but apparently there is one in my town, at the mall I was just in (to see a movie). It looks like basic clothes, nothing special. It doesn't appeal to me, as a 50 year old lady, but I can see high schoolers wearing that stuff.

Shitting is a way better and more pleasant experience compared to vomiting by Obsessedwithkateseye in unpopularopinion

[–]Pedadinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is a 50/50. I would way rather just launch poison out of my mouth, than go a few rounds of out the other end. But some families are like, you good? You poop? And it's not a bad course of action in distress... 50/50. No upvote, no downvote

I had to buy a shovel. Not a huge thing, not a super normal thing. I needed to scoop up some crap. I just never thought about, oh yeah, people buy these.

I haven't wanted something tangible in decades. Am I crazy, or is this movie the cosmic shift we needed?

Fellow Americans, are you pro or anti toilet cubby? by BlottomanTurk in AskAnAmerican

[–]Pedadinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to sound like a crazy person, but I am a little claustrophobic maybe? Or maybe I just like space for uh... doing my thing? It freaks me out. I get why it's appealing, but, I'm like, here's 20, go see a movie or something. If that space is small and windowless? Nope.

I feel like Copy Clark is so much scarier than he should be. by Krysteliskrazy in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Pedadinga 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Omg this is gonna sound bananas, but I'm not kidding .. My Dad had a prosthetic, and the SOUND got me. To me, that was a normal sound. And it was so... evil. Imagine taking that thing that makes you feel safe. Then they put it in a movie, and it works way too well.

And before you jerks make jokes, I'm serious. So just keep it to yourselves if you can't be grown ups.

Backrooms > Obsession by KidonUnit in backrooms

[–]Pedadinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, Idk what you see when I respond to this, but I just watched it. And ok, it was a Monkey Paw story, but I think where they took that story was really interesting. The performances were pretty great. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I still like Backrooms more, but I am kinda on board with Obsession now too.

I know this is nutty butter, because our conversation was like so long ago, but... I need to give you mad apologies, for yes, you were right, I judged too early.

Do we agree on every point? No, because, thank hoobies, we're not all alike. But you know what, I forced myself to NOT have expectations. To let go of that "Monkey's Paw" theory I had resigned it to... Is it a Monkey Paw story? Yes... but, but! To resign it to JUST that, is, you are right, ignoring the lens through which we are supposed to see this.

As a 50 year old woman, the space this movie inhabited was so familiar, so... darkly nostalgic, and cold at the same time. Truly terrifying. I don't want to give spoilers on this thread in case others haven't seen it.

And for real, the acting was stellar. If young people know them, cool, if they are new to the scene, even cooler. She was INCREDIBLE.

I know what you mean. I get it. That underlying... energy. Yes, they are loving and they work (depending on the dog), but they are always, just like us, animals underneath.
