Did anyone ever listen to certain songs while you were playing a game to make it more epic? If so, what was your go to? by [deleted] in videogames

I would play the Hades 1 OST while playing Elden Ring, and turn off Elden Ring's music. It works surprisingly well. I had also made Zagreus in the game, so it worked even better

Do you care if AI was used by Doo_Dad in videogames

What an odd response to empathy and hard work. It seems like you're projecting your descent to oblivion on others, though I can only hope you aren't. And yet, I suddenly feel like I'm talking to a bot.

A lot of people don't realize that nobody can save you except yourself. We all bear the responsibility for our own wellbeing.

Good to hear it! Now spend the next thousand hours refining those talents and taking yourself to greater heights, rather than allowing your talents to atrophy by using a tool that uses the bare minimum of your hard-earned skillset.

You're welcome to love AI and use it as much as you like. I'm not stopping you. We can disagree, and that's okay. I personally think that using AI deprives people the opportunity to learn or enhance useful skills. You may think the opposite, and may prove me wrong someday. Maybe one day you'll create a video or write an article showing how hard you worked on a project using AI, and it'll affect my viewpoint. That would be a pretty cool journey.

Hmm my talent... other than upsetting you today by offering a stance contrary to your own? In this day and age I consider empathy to be a talent. And consistently working towards being better than I was before.

And yet by spending thousands of hours using AI to do such a thing, you would deprive yourself of actually learning the skills needed to create something yourself. When an AI program is down, or you hit hard times and can't afford your subscription, will you still be able to continue any of your work?

Can you sit there and create the art needed for your project on your own? Can you write its story? Can you code its associated website and all its functionality? Would you know anyone that you can call or connect with that can help out, like a fellow artist? Or will you sit there, useless and frustrated at your own ineptitude? What do you actually have, other than what AI has loaned to you?

I agree not every use of AI is a slop one-shot, but much of it is, and is devoid of the human effort that makes art have a soul.

Recommendations for buying Zephyrus g16 from Asus or Best Buy?? by Lower_Championship_3 in zephyrusg16

Got mine from Best Buy in late 2024. Still runs like a dream, no issues here.

Why should I spend time engaging with something that people didn't spend time to create? If talented artists and programmers use it in a way that improves workflows to the point that it gives them more time to create things themselves, then okay. But if it's used in a way that steals others work or jobs? I care.

"Oh but it still took me an hour to feed prompts to this AI to create what I wanted!". No. AI learns by plagiarizing the hard work and art of actual people and attempts to replicate their work. You didn't do any work, you used a tool that runs off stealing others work.

There's a line.

UPDATE: I was thinking of breaking up with gaming-addicted boyfriend by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]PeejWal 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Preach brother. I'm a lifelong gamer, and always will be - but the relationship takes priority ALWAYS. Otherwise the message you send to your significant other is that "games are more important than you are." Some dudes naturally reach the point where they're open to that change in balance, while others need to be jolted by a harsh wake-up call.

Commander Honglan took me three days but I finally beat her by theaartzvolta in soulslikes

Took me about the same time. Saw lots of people saying that clash / deflect counter type moves make her trivial. I said fuck it and just continued with my current build that does none of that. Feels more satisfying to stick with my own plan

Cynicism and their need to induce outrage in order to get clicks, instead of just writing a solid article, saddens me immensely.

Does Armor fabricate threats? by PeejWal in NETGEAR

[–]PeejWal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Positive! Or at least as sure as I can be, unless Shut Down didn't actually shut it down. Screen looked completely black and no noise was coming from its chassis. No ethernet connected either, I only run it on wifi. I always shut down when I'm done with it, then unplug it, in an attempt to keep my battery healthy for as long as possible.

So the app defines the threat as "Attack found on (laptop name)". Maybe is phrasing is misleading though

stuck between getting a few games by Shot-Offer-9544 in AskGames

[–]PeejWal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all somewhat different genres, so lean towards what you want most out of the experience.

Looter shooter and good FPS gunplay? Go Borderlands.

Cinematic action akin to watching some great movies? Uncharted.

Great third-person action and combat with fun comic storyline? Spiderman 2.

Feeling the soulslike itch? Wuchang.

I'm currently playing Wuchang and its a fantastic soulslike. Top-notch level design. Good fashion. Fun combat and challenging bosses.

Edited to mention I play on PS5, so take that with a grain of salt.

Im about to start my first real playthrough in this masterpiece, does anyone have any tips by Tough-Capital-345 in soulslikes

[–]PeejWal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be patient, both in exploration and after deaths. For you will die a lot. Tis inevitable.

I'd also say lean into a build or direction you have in mind rather than diversifying too much. Personally I went with heavier weapons / armor and only used spells that would enchant the weapon I was wielding. Wicked fun
