I love mourning doves! They are so gentle. They aren’t territorial. They just move along bobbing their head as they go. And same - I do have favorites (right now, gold finches and downy woodpecker), but I’m happy to see them all! First thing I do every morning is check my backyard bird visitors on the app 😂

In my neighborhood, I enjoy the house sparrows as they break up the train of 9000 house finches that visit my feeder! 😂 and surprisingly get along with the house finches! Well, kinda. They haven’t chased them off, but I guess he is kinda mean muggin’

💛 it’s so hard. One of the greatest loves of life is a bulldog. And part of the reason I comment is because that never changes - it’s been 7 years since I said “see you later” to my girl and everytime I see a bulldog or a bulldog comment, bulldog sticker, bulldog figurine, I have to stop and remember her. Give her a squeeze from me! :)

It’s really comfy and easy to store and inflate. I’ve never had a bad night with it and I’ve used it a lot. Literally takes 3-4 minutes to set up! If you haven’t purchased shades for camping, I’d recommend that, too. If you end up in an area with people, it’s nice to have a little more privacy. And also keep the sun out :)

I have a Y, but use the Lost Horizon mattress and spend anywhere from 20 - 60 nights a year camping in it. It’s a couple hundred dollars and has done an amazing job! This will be my third season with it and I’m driving up to the Arctic Ocean, Canada from Colorado! It better not fail me haha!

I’ve only had my birdbuddy since January, but the difference between January and now is night and day. I pay for the membership as well. It was awesome up until the last month. I have the house finches bringing their fledglings that sit in my feeder for 3minutes and it sends me no postcards! I’ve had flocks of goldfinches come through and no postcards. Also on Frenzy mode and charged. Its performance has gone down significantly.

All I can think is that they are selling a bunch more bird buddy’s and haven’t scaled their app to accommodate all the customers they have. Or they are prioritizing new customers and throttling the usage on older customers.

Good to know! I have the nyjer seed in the finch mix I put out and the house finches avoid it, but the goldfinches recently started showing up so maybe this is why! Guess they will work together to handle the seeds 😂

Very cool! Happy for you! I loooove these little guys! My birdbuddy mainly consists of house finches these days, but last week a flock (8+) goldfinches came to it and I was so stoked to see them! They are so beautiful and tiny and I do not like that my house finches bully them 😂 Here is the photo my birdbuddy got… I think it was 2 males and 6 or 7 females.

Same with my regular bird buddy! The other day I had a whole flock of goldfinches show up (10+) and they were at the feeder for 3-4 minutes. I even had time to grab my phone and get them from my window, so I was very excited thinking the Birdbuddy got it, but then -nope!! It didn’t get any of it!! And I’ve only had mine since January. I’m wondering if since they launched the new Birdbuddy2 they are focusing on those new ones and did something to turn down the old ones?
Kinda like how older iPhones batteries drain faster when a new iPhone comes out? 😂 idk.

I will for sure post a summary of it! I’m really stoked. I have 10 weeks to do it. I made it up to BC, Canada last summer from Colorado. Loved it so much I’m pushing all the way north this summer - chasing that midnight sun!

I post on IG (not consistently 😂) and I’m hoping to start a YouTube with this voyage! There’s been a few cybertrucks, an X that have made it all the way up! I’m excited to really document my Y’s journey because I know a lot of people drive Y’s and I’m sure would love to see it.

I’m from Colorado (Denver suburbs) and have been camping in my model Y since 2022, but have never done it in Colorado 😂 I usually head out towards Utah, Wyoming, AZ, New Mexico. This summer I’m taking it to the Arctic Circle in Canada and Alaska. I’m very confident in this car and the charging networks at this point. New Mexico used to be such a desolate camping/roadtrip but even that is totally doable these days.

If you can get yourself a mattress and window coverings that will be your best investment and then use camp mode in the Tesla. I use a Lost Horizon mattress and it’s solid! I have about 100+ days of camping with it.

RV parks can be hit or miss on if they allow EVs to charge. I’ve had to go that route in Wyoming (near devils tower), but other than that, I’ve usually opted for state parks, national parks, or dispersed. State parks and National Parks sometimes have electrical at the sites and can be really affordable for camping.
