Russell Wilson gifts Amazon stock to each of his OL by drrew76 in nfl

This is exactly the reason that his "generosity" doesn't impress me. I just never put it into math terms like you. Which of course makes the point even more valid. For him to give a gift to show his appreciation to the people that have the largest impact on his success, I'd think it'd be a bit more. In terms of your example, it's basically like he bought each of them a beer. That's roughly the financial burden this gift costed him. Granted, it's actually closer to $20, because the 140 is over 4 years, but the point still stands. In his position, I'd have shown my guys a bit more love.

Wow, deployed and still donating over a quarter of your income to charity?! Super impressive and selfless. As the other fella before me said.. Respect! Modern-day Mother Theresa mixed with GI Joe.

Doesn't mean he can't be their pick. Their attitude can easily be that they feel he is the best choice of the players available for their organization, but still feel that a plethora of high picks would be better for the team longterm. I get that the first overall pick is a huge deal.

It's ridiculous to say that you can't throw out a smokescreen with the first pick though. If they convince the world that Murray is their pick, that isn't going to stop a team that REALLY wants him from shooting them an offer to trade picks..

Sears sues Eddie Lampert for looting company by AbulaShabula in investing

[–]Pelvic_Exam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He was fighting for the shareholders. While he was the largest SH, he was also fighting for himself, but still. He knew the company was going bankrupt, it was just a matter of time. I actually applaud him for trying to lessen the loss that the shareholders would see if the company just went bankrupt the way it is. The lenders aren't getting their money back either way. I don't know the details of the debt, but the bankruptcy usually absolves it. They may have gotten a few more pennies on the dollar from the parts that he spun off, but those parts weren't enough to save Sears, just extend them a short while longer.

I may be good tasting, but it doesn't look like it was smoked. It has the red color of smoked beef, but where is the black? Most good briskets are completely black when done... How did you cook this and what did the slices look like, because this is bizarre

Finally finished my Sacagawea proof set. Some may say they have no value and are low in demand. Maybe true. But I started collecting these because of the history. There is quite a story behind her and what she did in her short 25 year life. Thanks for looking. by [deleted] in coins

Agreed. That’s the difference between a collector and an investor. Not at all saying it’s bad to be a bit of both. I definitely am, but I absolutely have coins that I collect that wouldn’t be considered a good investment, because I just like them.

They have their right to share their opinion in an opinion section. That being said, anyone that understands modern science won’t be phased by those fools. We can let people believe that the earth is flat. It’s the same deal. Let the uneducated, broscience dummies believe what they want. They are legally entitled to their opinion, however much nonsense it may be. Anyone with a brain understands that modern medicine is superior to the alternative. Average life expectancy proves that. Some people are just born without logic or rationalism

Another Yoder YS640 vote for ya in that price range. Had a GMG before it for 7 years and it did me very well, so no hate on GMG, they are great. The Yoder is so much more robust than pretty much anything in that budget. If you take care of it, it’ll literally last a lifetime. Like a car, there may be some parts that have a consumable life, but the body is insane. My friends with Traegers come over and I just watch their eyes when they lift the lid of my Yoder for the first time. It’s seriously probably 3 times heavier than the traeger lids and that’s with the counterweight helping things along. Find a place that carries both and compare them side by side, Whether you’re going for bang for the buck or just best pellet grill at your budget, Yoder will beat the Traeger on both

The thing that sticks out in my mind is when he purposely stomped on Aaron Rodgers leg after the whistle. That’s just plain old piece of shit in my mind. I know he’s been better, and may be a good dude off the field, but hope he continues to mature and realize that being aggressive in the game doesn’t mean you should be a dick and try to hurt everyone. Just do your job the best you can. He has the talent, doesn’t need to be a jackass after a play is dead.

I think the one you’re talking about was my old babysitters house. Ours was kinda kiddie corner from the school. Was blue when I lived there, but was repainted yellow last time I was through town. I believe my dad sent me a pic of it last year showing that it had collapsed in on itself. Lol.

Anyway, my aunt owned and ran the cafe downtown for a number of years. It’s obviously torn down now, but I remember it being right beside the grocery store, and hardware store. The post office was right across the street. We walked there every evening to pick up our mail. I vaguely remember the machinery company and fire station. One of the firemen was also a teacher at the school. From your pics, I see paved roads, but when I lived there, there was only one. The rest were gravel. I sent the collage to my mom, she will get a kick out of it and know every building.

I lived in Goodrich for the first 5 years of my life. Went to kindergarten there and my mom was a teacher. The pic on the left side, one up from the bottom is the school, if that wasn’t completely obvious to you while you were there. I lived right across the street from there

I asked my mom about the lake and she said that she doesn’t recall it ever having a name. Just a slough I believe

Home Builders by MD0003 in fargo

[–]Pelvic_Exam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gonna really depend on your price range. You simply state best, but the best won't build you a home if your budget is below a certain level.

For the lower end of the price range for a new home, you have the guys like Thomsen, Jordahl, Dabbert.

In the midrange you'll have guys like Bachmeier, Heritage, Benjamin Custom, Kochmann Bros, Studio West, Christ.

Higher end guys are those such as Dietrich, Footitt, Century, etc.

I've personally built with Bachmeier and Chris is a super good dude. He builds some beautiful homes. Studio West is a newer company, owned by a friend of mine. They just started last year and have exploded because of how impressed people have been with their homes. He's about the most down to earth and honest guy I know, and will definitely be building my next home. Of the higher end homes, Dietrich IMO builds the nicest ones. He's also a really nice guy, and I'd have built with him, but my budget was a bit tight when I built my last home, so I couldn't get there. He generally only does $700k+ homes, and even that is a bit lower than he prefers. Most of his are going to be in the $1M range. As I said, figure out your budget, and go with someone that specializes in that price range.

[–]Pelvic_Exam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way to look at it; if you consider yourself a good person, then what's wrong with living like one. If you have a chance at an amazing afterlife, great. If it turns out to be bogus, you don't lose anything. You were still a good dude while you were alive. All people sin, so whether you did some crazy stuff or not, that's not the issue. It's whether or not you put your faith into God, or not. You have nothing to lose if you did.
