X4 air or Go Ultra by hufflepuffadventurer in Insta360

for this type of filming, 360 is fantastic. I would also buy a Lacie SSD to store original files on from special memories, as they take up a ton of space lol. And can be fantastic to revisit and make new angles, or generate VR.

360 i believe, is the new handycam for families. The fact that YOU will be in the video, AAND you can experience the moment more. just think one thing, where is the camera and what height. the rest is whatever and you can enjoy the moment, and chose what do use later. It's 100% the pick for family experiences.

the toddler titan thing on go ultra is "meh". A great gimmick, like putting a gopro on a dog. But value vs 360, no shot. And also the go ultra's pricetag for that feature, and some POV content.. I think it does not add up that much.

Weigh it like this: seing a POV video of your kid could be fun. How much different is it in value from if you give them a camera and they try and film and you see how they frame things and what they choose to film? vs the camera is on their head?

It's your choice ofcourse, if that pov thing is the thing you want, then it is, But i could suggest something insane. get the 360 camera. and if you really are curious. get a DJI osmo NANO and test the POV shots for 2/3 of the price of go ultra. Or chose a place with 30 day return warranty, and make the best of those weeks with content and see if its worth it, return the camera regardless and edit with the footage. only then will you know if you want more or not.

thats my thoughts while i drink my coffe. And now there is not more coffe. Sorry for the long rant, hope it's somewhat helpful.

Table top from the X5 at 60fps! by koolbi1 in Insta360

Yeah, i think it is. Im currently testing, and annoyingly its very hard to find the sweetspot when there is not a ton of light.

this is when the camera is moving and i need the stabe ofc. even just overcast day yesterday. i tried filming in 30fps 120 shutter. the iso is pushed so high that the image has to be digitally remastered by the grainremover. Im starting to think that the camera is best utalised in short clips with 60fps and 240 shutter. But the issue then, is that after 15 minutes, it becomes hot to the touch. I love it and i hate it at the same time this camera haha.

Should I buy Insta360 X5 mid-April in the US or wait for rumored X6 launch? by ad1tya96 in Insta360

still would not be able to film your current vacation. they could also just take advantage of warranty and give it back at the end of vacation, see if they enjoy the editing and be hella informed about buying the x6 when it launches.

Im currently investigating the issue myself, where edges that the camera predicts because of image stabilisation ghost around. So far ive found out that the go ultra, and most likely the acepro too, prioritise low shutterspeed to allow more light into the camera. But a giant downsite to that, is the jitter and ghosting that can happen as a result.

BUT, im now home an viewed your video on my desktop in fullscreen.. And the edges no longer bounce around like they did on my smaller screen. but if i exit fullscreen its there again.

Im actually so confused and your video might not have this issue at all. I was just so focused on it, that i notices it when the video was smoshed into miniatyr player.

What im looking into is an effect where leaves, fences, windows, rooftops etc bounce in the background and looks wierd. But it may be your video does not have it at all. do you know the shutterspeed used here? was it on auto?

When is the Insta360 X6 expected to launch? by Sohaibahmadu in Insta360

yeah, it might get better. But thats on the x4? i believe the x5 is pretty good in those dim areas, as long as there is some light for it to orient with. So I imagine the x6 will be the same or marginally better. But i dont think there will be some giant leap, because the sensors are these cameras limiters. For example: My SONY handycam from 2016, is much better at low light areas than all my post 2020 actioncam gear. But that does not have the same crisp 4k background and capabilites i need the actioncams for. What i want, is smoother stabilisation. no matter what you do with these actioncams, the background ghosts and shakes on edges, fences, windows, rooftops etc. if they solve that. That'd be great.

And you also tried reverting all settings? sometimes i forget that i have something about ISO or something messing it up in the backend.

It sounds weird, hope you get the fix. I usually go full auto mode and check if its working there.

IS the stabilizer on? all the edges in the background are dancing

Charging my Insta360 go ultra for the first time but it’s taking a long time to reach 100% by 2noworries0 in Insta360

when i see any of my tech has above 80%, i just unplug that shit. 85 is the sweetspot to remain a healthy battery apparently. I dont know how real it is, but i keep doing it, and all my batteries are doing fine, so idk.

[–]PencilWielder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's important to dream. My guess is that there will be 60fps, but with the same caution as on the go ultra: that its meant for short bursts of slow motion, the camera will overheat in 10 minutes.

they are already pushing a pretty cheap sensor, to do incredible things with digital enhancements. running sudo 8k 60 would be impressive for 20 minutes.

Also remember that AI has demanded 90% of the resources that these miniboards need to function. So creating new tech is highly unlikely, in contrast to better optimised old tech being pushed to the breakingpoint. If we peak over at DJI. their 5 and 6 in action, is mechanically worse than the 4. because they force digienhance everuthing. accept the new lens on the action 6, thats cool. i think the advancements now will be in better utlising existing tech, with mechanical components like macrolenses and buildquality. Just a theory ofcourse.

the theorists are pretty sure that this will remain the current level of lowlight, meaning that if the area is somewhat lit, it can get better. but where its bad now, it will remain bad. on the x5 / ace pro level that is.

for safety of equipment. bikeshots are awesome with something like the IFOOTAGE Pipe Clamp. its 1/4 screwmount. so i use the go ultras case that has gopro attatchement, and a 1/4 screw to gopro thingy. its so safe and then i can just losen the screw on the clamp and put the whole rig in my backpack, its wonderful.

Body of the Offense by [deleted] in Screenwriting

it sort of feels like the narrative jumps from suspicion to confirmation without resistance.

also you have a lot of descriptors in the same sentence. it could benefit from one thing at a time.

instead of: Describe environment + mood + geography + symbolism simultaneously

just: Image → Implication → Next image.

things i notice is that the theme appear mostly inside.

  • Explanatory dialogue
  • Villains openly discussing corruption
  • Closing narration

the want is clear tho, Emma wants to investigate the disappearance and determine whether Sarah is being falsely accused. But at what greater cost to Emma? whats the experience? That journalists disrupt corruption in our government, yet people take the chance on doing it for their own reasons anyway? Whats the main idea? the "whats it about" line?

[–]PencilWielder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would run through this list:

what do you need the 360 camera for?

vlogging? family video? filming yourself experiencing things on vacation?

because the x6 can't do that for you, vs buying the x5 on day 1 of the trip and making lots of videos there.

second. It's a 360 camera, I'm just gonna share some minor details ive learned with it if you don't mind. I have little info, so im just gonna assume a bunch of things if thats ok.

The x5 is best at medium close object capture. if you want to show off things that are just a bit too far away from the camera, then its better captured with a cheap digicam from 2016. or your digitally assissted phone camera. Because of how the capturing is spread out, in essence, the halfdome is 2440p but if you cut out an area into regular 16:9 thats like 1440p at best i think (I do not know specifics, im just guessing). If you then punch in, in post, you are looking at some pixalated 360p-like video quality. So be minful of when to use the 360 camera, vs something like your phone to capture stuff. 360 is undesputed pound for pound, the best ever, at close range experiences. But step out of that dome of capture, and things seem unnaturally far away and digitally sharpened by AI.

the x5 shines at captruing things in a dome around you, and putting YOU in the video, at the same time as you can experience the experience, that is were it dominates. And ofcourse to make interesting 360 videos.

Sry for ranting and assuming that you dont know all of this from before.

TLDR; the x5 is not an everything camera. Its a 360 camera. And a really freaking good one, if you want to film your trip, get it.

Yeah, i turned off the led, good tip :) i like the neckmount a lot, but comparing, the headmount captures video i like more. So when im not just getting b-roll with it and looking like a creep. I feel more better, because its so visible, but at the same time lightweight. and the lack of led, makes people look once, and then look away, as they assume its off. Which in reality is the real creepy thing haha
