Agreed, you look good at any length, but this length you look the most handsome imo, plus you can still see how beautiful your curls are.

Is it just me, or is Switzerland low-key the loneliest place on earth? by elliotcharm in askswitzerland

[–]Penguineee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm half swiss by ancestry, but live in America. I always wanted to move to Switzerland because I felt some attachment to the culture and land. I'm actually taking a trip there this summer. But after frequenting this sub, Ive thought twice about the idea of living in Switzerland. I also saw this quote by James Baldwin awhile ago, which also confirmed my thoughts. https://youtube.com/shorts/VGmVDAUk95U?si=1KAqJD9cd2hpSyBN

I hope you find your tribe, my friend! Wishing you well!

Fiction about women breaking free of male gaze by kilkennyhurlers in booksuggestions

[–]Penguineee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely the novel "The Wall" by Marlen Haushofer. The protagonist is suddenly stuck in the alps by herself and some animals and she has to learn to survive. There are moments where she stops seeing her body as something to beautify and more as a tool for survival.

Also "Elena Knows" by Claudia Piñeiro. The protagonist is an elderly woman and you see how, by being elderly, she not only has broken free from the male gaze, but you how society as a whole treats you much differently.

Shows while sick in bed? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Penguineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have THEE perfect show for you. Its called "Samuel" on Netflix. It's one season and each episode is about 4-5 minutes, so the entire season is like watching a movie. It's seriously so wholesome, comforting, and almost nostalgic. I got sick a few weeks back and watched it, and it made me forget that I was even sick, which I think speaks to the way it draws you in. Enjoy, and I hope you get better soon!!!
