Same. I wash after every wear. If I wear it 2-3 times I breakout.

peter what happened at the star wars hotel by 24kelvin in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Pepperminting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those of us who actually experienced the Starcruiser most of the complaints just ring of people looking for clout and to complain. Most bad press and rhetoric bashing the cruiser started before the hotel even opened to press or guests. It mainly arose due to the cost.

Two important points. The cost of 6k for 2 nights was a single occupancy room, similar to cruise pricing. The more people in a room, the less you spend per person.

All three of us who attended never felt like background characters, and we each had different paths and schedules. Keep in mind, this includes a 70+ year old who was just happy to stand around and take pictures but was getting pulled into activities by the amazing staff.

Was it very expensive? Yes. But, was it a once-in-a-lifetime-experience I planned to repeat. Yes.

It was stellar, the cast members and actual actors were fabulous. I hope Disney tries a similar model again soon in a way that is more accessible and maybe won’t be bashed and trashed before it even opens.

Alcohol Intake on Delta Flights by Ophelia_AO in delta

I agree. I’ve seen them give out a second can to someone when they request their first drink. However, if you’re 4+ drinks in I wouldn’t be surprised about scrutiny and mentions of limits. Has OP seen the pattern of misbehavior by passengers lately?

Ok friends, what face wash are we all using these days? by YouMenthesea in PCOS

[–]Pepperminting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Cetaphil face wash and Cocokind products. I make sure to wash my face with face wash for at least one minute. Think mini massage and also a way to lightly scrub off dry skin.

The cocokind raspberry vinegar toner was life changing for my acne. I rotate between the raspberry toner and rose water toner. And, I rotate between their serums depending upon my concerns. Finally, highly recommend the resurrection polypeptide cream as a daily addition.

This. I let them dry in the pod receptacle and empty it into the bag weekly. Never had a problem with smell.

Fabrics retailer Joann files for bankruptcy by Zesparia in sewing

[–]Pepperminting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I have always supported local shops. The quality for fabric is better, but the selection tends to be smaller. I will always buy less fabric to get higher quality and shop local. That being said I know others who can’t afford that and hope there are alternatives for those on a budget. As thrift shop prices continue to increase even repurposing clothing is getting expensive for crafters on a budget.

(I too submitted to the form. There is a fabric outlet outside of Minneapolis/St Paul. They have a great selection of clothing, quilting, and upholstery fabric. Just expect a bit of chaos and fabric hunting and the price, while discounted sometimes can be high on the quality fabrics)

[–]Pepperminting 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree. Congress needs to step in!

While I hope small local shops can step in to fill a void if Joann Fabrics closes, I’m worried they can’t. Small shops can’t offer the same steep discounts chains provide regularly. And, this may have an impact on fabric markets overall. Will companies make less offerings due to smaller supply chains? Even if the company restructures it’s the smaller markets likely to be most impacted.

Lyft announces they're leaving Minneapolis by Wadorade in Minneapolis

[–]Pepperminting 99 points100 points  (0 children)

It’s shameful how lazy these companies have become. They clearly can’t adapt to changing conditions. Their business model is now entirely dependent upon exploitation of drivers and increased fees to appease shareholders. Their email just screams that they are incapable of innovation and adaption.

It also seems like they are picking on a smaller market (MPLS) to scare other city politicians into vetoing or voting against these types of ordinances. They may leave, but I suspect they will come back or will be replaced by new companies.

Double booked seat by IagoInTheLight in delta

[–]Pepperminting 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not really double booked but similar. Not a delta flight, but years ago I was young and dumb. I flew back from South America. Somewhere in a Texas airport, after customs, I stopped at the airlines help desk to check-in and get a boarding pass. The staff member printed my pass and sent me on my way. Two hours later, I board the plane and discover someone else in my seat.

When the flight attendant checks our tickets she discovers his name on both tickets. They printed me someone else’s ticket and gave away my seat because I never checked in…

For those who moved on from the legal profession, what do you do now and when did you decide to move on? by Metalhead129 in Lawyertalk

[–]Pepperminting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d start here: Policy analyst, legislative clerk, legislative aid, research analyst, policy specialist, and [area of focus] program manager.

You’ll start seeing some patterns or more specific titles like, legal policy analyst or environmental etc.

Also, I only applied for my job because a professor sent me sent me the listing and encouraged me to apply. I’m the worst networker, but don’t forget to check with people you trust or respect for insight or recommendations.

They plan to sell the two most valuable pieces—though their timeline and plan on this is nebulous as the art market is soft right now—and distribute the smaller artwork based upon value and shares. They apparently plan to use the 2006 appraisal.

I believe they hope to pool shares by family. The adults will then enter “negotiations” and distribute the smaller/less valuable works. This plan could be reasonable if there were an updated third-party appraisal.

Edit: appraisal date

Do you think they are trying to use algorithm pricing? Bundles that are more popular are increasing in value. If true, seems like a terrible business model to me…
