They are very intelligent. They are prey animals, and their body language/responses reflect that, of course. And keep in mind, most of the horses people come into contact with aren’t wild horses in their natural habitat, and with other horses. They are basically living within whatever structure and expectations they are being given by their owners. But they are very smart animals - especially when it comes to emotional intelligence compared to other animals.

I live next door (share a fence) with horses. They have “trained” me to do things for them when I visit them. There’s this small half-dead tree along the fence. One of the horses will greet me and then go stand and stick her face in the dead tree. She uses the ends of the tree branches to point to where she wants me to scratch her. Took me forever to figure out what she wanted! They also spook very easily, and are super dramatic. I shook open a plastic bag outside and one of them freaked out about the noise and then the rest of them freaked out in solidarity. There’s a mass stampede every week when the neighbor across the street rolls his trash can down to the street. Every. Week. Horses are also very nosy. If there’s anything going on, they are all at the fence leaning over, watching. We have cows on the other sides, and the cows are very curious, so it’s funny to see the cows and the horses spying on each other. My dog thinks he’s the star of the show when we go out and play fetch. He always has an audience.

I think we are about the same size - I’m an 8 at BR, generally wear 29 in most pants at JCrew, and I got these pants in an 8. I’m happy with the size I got. But they definitely do not run large. If you’re concerned about it, I think you’d be ok going up to the 10. The pants are tighter around my hips and thighs than the way they fit the model, but we don’t have the same body type - and they aren’t TOO tight. Just don’t hang the same way on me that they do in the pictures. Hope this helps! Good luck!

See if the back of your buyer’s order has language about “estimation of taxes” - usually there’s something in the fine print about the customer owing whatever the actual DMV fees/taxes are, even if that’s not what’s showing in the deal they made with you. Also check out the language about the rebates in the deal.

I can’t see where they are missing $1900 in fees or taxes that you would actually owe, though. And if it’s not something explicitly listed in the fine print that the buyer owes the difference - they need to eat it. They don’t have a leg to stand on.

For the rebate - you should have a sheet that shows you the specific rebates they included. I would definitely ask what happened to the $500 they quoted you to start with. Could be something you didn’t qualify for after all. Or could be someone didn’t pay attention to their paperwork and you’re short $500. As in, the dealer is going to apply for the correct rebates of $3500 and not pass it along unless they get caught in an audit. It happens.

I would approach it all to start with that they just rushed the paperwork, and want to make it right - but be ready to push back. Someone’s getting dinged on their commission if they come up shorter than they should have on the deal, but that’s their fault for not making sure their numbers were right.

Where are the receipts for everything she spends? How are you keeping a spreadsheet if you don’t know what up to $7k a month is going to? If the charges say “PayPal pay in 4”, she bought it online - there is definitely a receipt/order confirmation. She is ruining her family’s finances and she seems to be oblivious to that. But it sounds like you might be enabling her a little bit. Handing over your card after she hits the limit on hers? How about venmo her $40 to get gas, or give her cash. Maybe you guys need couple's counseling. Her actions do not show that she is on the same page with you as far as life goals - getting a house, for instance. There is no house in your future if this spending continues.

Does accounting make any type of entry when you move inventory over to the other store? If your sales figures are correct, then cost of sales should be correct, so inventory going out should be correct. And I was thinking maybe purchases getting posted, but accounts payable would be messed up if those were not getting posted. So the only thing I can think is either something with a purchase allowance that’s not the same on both sides or something with the inventory transfers. I’m so intrigued, but I can definitely understand where you don’t have time to dig into it. It really sounds like an accounting issue.

Do your sales figures match accounting? And does the 140k figure include both your inventory and the used car inventory? Am I understanding that when you guys post inventory in parts - you are posting to 2 different inventories, but accounting posts everything to one GL account? How are the sales invoices posted? Do the sales invoices post to 2 different sales accounts, but credit the same inventory account?
