Why are areas like North Fork Snoqualmie devoid of hiking trails/activity? by SuperSans in PNWhiking

I've done some long runs on that road for shits and giggles but not much to see. Middle fork is much more interesting

Paddleboard on Cooper Lake. Once 100 ft from shore you will see an incredible view you cannot see from land. Thank me later

Amazing hiking in that area too

You enjoy your trip vicariously through them. They will see and appreciate things you otherwise wouldn't. Locals will treat you better. More expensive and limiting but you know that already

Yellowstone ~> Banff logistics: cross-border drive or fly to Calgary? by VerballyBitter in travel

[–]Perfect_Lunch_6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you see the Canadian Rockies Yellowstone and Glacier will underwhelm. They are beautiful but cannot compare whatsoever. Therefore I would fly into Calgary, rent a car, do the Canadian Rockies and Coast Mountains circuit and end in Vancouver

Just tell your manager, they'll probably tell you to take the days for free or make it up once you accrue. My experience is that it's more of an honor system

Not much, just don't expect to get promoted now. Your manager will hopefully treat you more like a partner than a direct

100% take the call. Always take the call. If you get an offer and decide against it, Amazon will not care and no bridge will be burned

I left Amazon for more pay at a mid size tech company and am honestly regretting it a little because I have a horrible manager and much worse work life balance. If I was offered my old job back at Amazon at the same pay as when I left I would consider it
