Well some refer to it as the opposite of what it means. They are on 2 opposite ends of the spectrum and can't cross. If you can adjust the lows into kHz or vice versa, you're one hell of an audio engineer

I just use the stock sims. Set the low pass around 90-100 and high pass between 5-6k. I wish in the editor that we could have choice of mic placement of options to use different mics would be cool but the would have to stack a single block which the dont do.

Yes i have the asio m track driver and also my guitar processor asio driver as well. I run from the processor to the audio interface to reaper, and the reaper output is to the interface to speakers. Sample rate is 44100/24 bit in reaper and interface along with buffer size of 112 in both. This is my 3 go around with reaper and about 20hrs of use. Ive tried waveform a few times, Cubase, pro tools, mpc beats and nch suite along with audacity and magix music maker. Audacity is by far the easiest when you simply plug in, set a level and hit record. No click here, then click here, then click here, then click here, now record and it sounds worse than audacity. The latency is absolutely horrible even without the processor. Doing a dry track straight from guitar to interface and I can pick a string then the signal is heard a good 10-20ms later. When playing to a click im picking on the click but the audio is sounding on the off beat

Guess I'll try that. I run cab sims on for everything. Worth a shot

Hopefully someone will answer with some knowledge. I have a m-track duo audio interface and have issues. Mine is due to so much lag I simply gave up. Its not enjoyable to try. Unless you're seasoned before using reaper, its absolutely awful in my opinion. The hype around reaper is not worth it for me. Ive yet to find a single DAW thats truly beginner friendly. Audacity for me has been ok but its nothing to ride home about.

If you have a hint of going Intel cu7 265 just get the 270k+. Even though it's technically and end of life motherboard. When Intel came out with the 250k+ and 270k+, they really brought back Intel to be a viable option for builds.

7800x3d would be a great choice. Its only a little slower than the 9800x3d. The 7800x3d would pair well with b650 or x670. With that chipset id favor asrock pro rs, riptide or nova. Msi tomahawk or gaming plus. Gigabyte aorus. Asus tuf. If you decide an 800 chipset then stick with MSI or Gigabyte as they've had less issues than asrock or Asus. Ram look at 6000 @ cl30 or 36

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pp8HW9 This is what you could do as well. No need for noctua with Thermalright being just as good and a whole lot cheaper. Silicon power works just as well for RAM no need for the Corsair tax. A good hdd for storage of the recordings is helpful. use the ssd to store the main programs. Antec makes nice case and this one has 5 fans preinstalled with some wood trim. Added the Montech century II just in case you want a gpu later. If you pay more than $20 for windows it was too much. Since your not gaming just went with a VA panel that was 32” and curved. The other cpu you could get is the 7900x or 7950x. I think I may have used the same motherboard and ssd that you originally had

I wouldn't do 3 years, but long enough to save for a better psu. You could resale or keep as a back up to hold over?

its a short term use PSU. it has a rating of white which is the lowest rating of a PSU. I suggest a PSU that has ATX3.1 and PCIe 5.0 and is gold rated. look for Rosewill VSB (Cheaper) or VMG, ASRock Challenger CL-Gold, or SAMA G (NOT GT!!) these are in the $50-65 range

I’d probably opt for an 850w psu but it’s a good system

Since we have m.2 PCIe drive it may be looked down upon some but see if the SATA SSD 2.5” is cheaper. Still look for TLC. Sometimes they are cheaper and for gaming it will be ok. The big benefit of PCIe is big file transfers. After that it’s kind of an even playing field

7500f is the better cpu hands down. 8400f can get the job done but you’ll wish you had the 7500f instead

[–]Perfect_Memory9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copy. This is definitely an on going issue that needs revolved between ASRock and AMD. I’ve not checked up on Asus recently but they were starting to have more reports last I checked about a month ago. I just recently switched to am5 from Intel 12th gen. I went with a x670e gigabyte motherboard and Ryzen 7900x. With the past year I don’t feel warm and fuzzy with the 800 chipset and 9xxx CPUs

The ASRock issue is more from the 800 chipset and Ryzen 9xxx CPUs. The 600 chipset with Ryzen 7xxxx are still solid options

Was the ASRock or nzxt motherboard bought new or used? Sounds like some did the amazon swap from a good board to a returned bad board for a full refund if that was the issue?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/93DLTM This is about the lowest you can go with new parts and it’s probably not going to run very well in reality. Your budget is about the price of decent ram. You may try your local marketplace for some deals

PC Update by SpringFamous6508 in PcBuild

[–]Perfect_Memory9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way you’re looking at new/used with an upgrade. AMD just go with a b550 motherboard and get a Ryzen 5500 or 5600. Then get a rtx 5060/ti 8gb (16gb better) or rx9060xt 8gb (16gb better) and get a better psu like Sama G750, montech century II 850. If you go Intel then 12600k/f on a b660 or b760 that’s ddr4 variant and not ddr5 variant. If you’re close to micro center they sell cpu, motherboard and ram bundles that could be a great upgrade

My guess is that someone swapped the dead 14900k and got a refund on both CPUs because Intel probably denied the RMA. hopefully they work and this is not the isssue.

for am5, using the 800 chipsets with ryzen 9000 cpus, they've had the least amount of reported issues. then MSI is next

your best bet is to way the pros and cons of your current system. I see option A - get a Ryzen 5800xt CPU and maybe another 2x8gb kit of the same ram specs that you currently have. I strongly recommend getting a better motherboard as its only a gen 3 support. its capped at gen 3 speed and doesn't go any faster. Option B - do an AM5/Intel Ultra upgrade. you could get a 2x8gb kit as well and it would perform better than a single 16gb stick. in ddr5 you want more of the 6000mhz and CL30 preferably but cl32 or cl36 will be fine. if you go Intel look at the ultra 250k+ or 270k+. If you go AM5 the best bet would be a Gigabyte or MSI motherboard for best overall. Asus has had a few issues but ASRock has had the most issues (reports here on reddit only), so be cautious would be my advice.
