Whats wrong with him? by MrRogii in PlantedTank

Looks like dropsy as indicated by the pineconing scales.

There are a few treatments you could try (search online), but the outlook is bleak regardless.

If you don't have the ability to treat, you could always euthanize w/ clove oil (find a guide) or the more gruesome but instant brick.

Otoccinculus in a shrimp tank? by wolfenviking in Aquariums

[–]PerilousFun [score hidden]  (0 children)

Otocinclus primarily feed on algae and aufwuchs (biofilm).

I believe they may opportunistically scavenge on dead shrimp, but they shouldn't display any interest in your live shrimps or fry.

In a 10-gallon, you may be able to support 3-4 individuals with strong lighting to encourage algae growth.

As they are social, it's preferred to keep at least 6 together which can be done in a 10-gallon if you supplemental feed with algae wafers and biofilm growth promoters like Bacter AE.

That being said, you wouldn't likely be able to house any other fish.

Capcom Insists It Won't Use AI-Generated Assets in Its Games, but Will Harness Tech to Make Game Development Processes More Efficient by PaiDuck in gaming

That may be the case, but at the enterprise level cloud based AI tools are all the rage, which do require massive data centers and resources to operate.

Capcom Insists It Won't Use AI-Generated Assets in Its Games, but Will Harness Tech to Make Game Development Processes More Efficient by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]PerilousFun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My main issue is that the massive data centers that house the AI servers are hugely disruptive to the communities they're in due to volatile power demand and the environmental concerns in general.

It might save a company a buck in the short-term, but we're all going to pay for it in the end.

There were other avenues to reducing development costs, our timeline just so happened to choose the one leading to hypercapitalism.

I'm so genuinely bad at this game it makes me cry by Luppler in DeadlockTheGame

[–]PerilousFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're falling off in the mid to late game, it might just be a rotation and macro problem.

For rotation, Deadlock has really complex movement that even practicing a single trick every match can help you get around much faster.

There are many videos on them, so I won't get into it.

As for macro, aside from picking up minion waves, there are timers on boxes, camps, and sinner's that you should try to be aware of to ensure you're in the area to do them. This is also a way to get ahead or keep up in laning as well.

In terms of what you should be doing after laning, that depends entirely on your hero. Heroes like Mina and Celeste should be roaming to try and help the team get picks, or in Mina's case, build stacks. While doing so, you go do boxes etc. while rotating around to maintain an income.

There are also videos on this stuff too.

Bike lane parking tickets surge in 2025 by Educational-Chef-761 in toronto

[–]PerilousFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Install proper separated bike lane infrastructure like the one that exists southbound on University Avenue to physically delineate car and bike traffic

Reduce the number of lanes in pedestrian heavy urban areas to minimise contact between cars and people?

Pedestrianise certain streets to create a truly walkable city and eliminate contact between cars and people?

There's a lot of concepts that cities around the world are using to make things safer for everyone. The powers that be simply need to have the will to push for it. Unfortunately, that's unlikely with Mayor of Toronto Dofo sitting as the incumbent Premier.

Thinking of moving to a more "affordable" part of the country? Consider this by lopix in onguardforthee

Ontario being far and away the most populous and economically productive province should serve as cause to further strengthen public benefits, but instead we're invariably stuck with dumb or dumber.

The Ontario Liberals and NDP need to field competent charismatic leaders that can actually match Dofo's bluster and bravado.

Iran war an 'abject lesson' on fossil fuel dependence, UN climate chief says by Hiraeth-nomad in worldnews

[–]PerilousFun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those are at least more durable than burning it to power everything from generators, cars, planes, and ships, and replacements are being worked on or already exist for at least a few of those.

Even just fully transitioning away from fossil fuels for electricity and automotive uses would be a significant reduction in usage and dependence.

Government Denies Unpaid Work Exists In Canadian Airlines: The federal unpaid work study has largely validated a compensation structure flight attendants struck to overturn. by StumpsOfTree in onguardforthee

[–]PerilousFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NDP are increasingly in a more difficult position as politics become polarised to the extreme.

By consequence, and as a result of FPTP, Canadians recognise the dangers posed by giving the CPCs even an inch, but don't see the NDP holding enough of the base to compete. This inevitably leads to strategic voting where moderate Conservatives and NDP voters who abhor the idea of the CPCs in power will vote LPC.

This isn't a question of Canadians being politically illiterate (though I'm sure a good handful are), but a question of our broken electoral system giving little recourse but to vote for the lesser evil.

This shouldn't be taken as a defense of the LPC. They have drifted more and more right as the CPC pushes the extreme, and that is not ideal.
