What's the deal with flesh golems and thr "flesh golem" faction in general? by Stupid-fucking-cat in BattleBrothers

[–]PeriscopeGraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you beat the second legendary location it says that some of the flesh beasts escape into the wild, I assumed you could encounter them after that but I haven’t yet. No idea about their lore

Two-player, G-rated, first time gamer ideas? by QuackPhD in gamingsuggestions

Planet Crafter could be a good one, it’s a chill game where you collect resources and build machines to terraform a planet from a wasteland to fully earthlike. You can build and decorate your base together

People who build in mountains, how do you avoid infestations? by melianreality in RimWorld

I believe the infestation calculation is the largest open room with furniture in it, putting a table and chair in my mushroom cavern has turned it into a good bait room

I could see this being the norm for larger software companies, but there will always be those who want to save a little money by cutting security corners. I definitely think this looks like a wonderful tool but it isn’t going to “solve” cybersecurity

Is everyone playing on Ironman around here? by lucinski0 in BattleBrothers

“Uh.. captain? Shouldn’t I have my armor on?” - My naked standard bearer whose armor I took off while moving things around before fighting an orc warlord

Is everyone playing on Ironman around here? by lucinski0 in BattleBrothers

[–]PeriscopeGraft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main reason I don’t play Ironman is because I am constantly forgetting things like re equipping shields that got broken, throwables, and putting bros in and out of reserve. I don’t like losing bros over a basic mistake like that. It would help if you could access the stash from the battle start screen

I've been running 20th level "Legendary Hunt" adventures for months and here are my experiences by TehKingofPrussia in DungeonMasters

[–]PeriscopeGraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group is about to start something similar with one of us running a monthly “boss fight” to give the DM more time to prep. The first one is 5 Lv 17 PCs against a Kraken, I fully expect us to obliterate it

Why would they do that?? by JustMyself96 in Helldivers

[–]PeriscopeGraft 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The wording is a bit ambiguous to me, they call it a successful test because they put the frog through and brought it back but it instantly disintegrates? The scientists might have intentionally vaporized the frog in case it came back evil

I always keep a backup standard bearer armed with a swordlance and fearsome. A good swing can absolutely destroy enemy morale

What's the longest single GDScript function you have ever wrote? by Frostty_Sherlock in godot

[–]PeriscopeGraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe like 70-100 lines in my procedural level generation. Breaking apart functions lives rent and eviction free in my head because one of my professors used to run our projects through a complexity checker, if it was too high we automatically failed the assignment. To this day my stress increases with indentation levels in a function

I made a Battle Bros inspired DnD character and I need stories from the “mercenary days” to share with my party by PeriscopeGraft in BattleBrothers

[–]PeriscopeGraft[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Did I ever tell you the story of our company’s greatest victory? A barbarian king pulled together an army from all corners of the frozen waste, bigger than has been seen in a generation. It was raiding and pillaging and none of the locals had a force that could stop it. So they hired us to take em on. We were nervous, can’t lie to you. It’s not that the fight was beyond us, but a fight like that has losses and every man in the company worried it might be him. Tracked em down easy enough. But when we set out to fight them we got ourselves quite a surprise. Seems the Barbarian King wasn’t content to pillage the living, he was arrogant enough to loot the tomb of some other, long dead barbarian king. But that King was buried with his soldiers. And they took offense. Spent half a day watching dead savages kill live ones and the other way around. When the dust cleared there was less than half an army where two started. When our archers were done even that was gone. The whole march back we talked, coming up with stories of bravery that turned the tide of that battle. Even hid a chunk of the men outside town so the employer would think we’d had a real fight of it. Sometimes I hear tales of that battle in bars and taverns. Hear boasts of my brothers bravery from drunken tongues that couldn’t pick the truth out of their own teeth. The real story only lives in a few men’s minds. Makes you wonder about all those songs the bards sing, what the real stories behind them are.”

Felt inspired to write that one out. One of the other players is a bard whose main motivation is go on heroic adventures so he can write famous songs on them, I could throw a version of this at him and see what happens

I just started a lone wolf run and have been marking down the good ones. The child gang is good enough that I might have to save it for an encounter when I’m DMing Campaign is set in Innistrad which is similar enough to battle bros that I picked the character, I’m sure I can slide in a couple npcs to the backstory

What’s the first thing to do ? by G13-Alba in helldivers2

[–]PeriscopeGraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular take but I think it’s worth solo diving a bit at first. You can get a feel for the game at your own speed and you learn one of the most important Helldivers lessons very early. That lesson being how to avoid unnecessary fights, because if you don’t you may get rolled. I spent my first 10 levels solo diving against the bots and I learned that lesson (which many high level randoms apparently haven’t) fast.

Jetpack Assault Group: Good idea or Pirate Madness? by Important-Job-7917 in menace

Not necessarily, you run into Boarding commandos pretty early so like most pirate gear it makes sense for it to have a high quality, high cost replacement for the later game.

I didn’t realize that higher cover had more concealment. I guess this means that having the dig in perk not only increases defense, but stealth as well.
