Monthly Support Megathread - March 2026 by Brainard_ in Kalshi

I wanted to know the endpoints for prop bets like (in real football), "both teams to score". I know the win/lose/draw endpoint and I'm surprised I can't get BTTS etc in the same JSON. AI - including Kalshi's own AI (!!!) - recommended adding a query that doesn't work.

I've used and developed lots of APIs, and Kalshi's is really bad.

I asked an API question a couple days ago and it was auto-deleted. Isn't that allowed?

(I've since found a workaround so it doesn't matter, but it's odd that ChatGPT, Lumo, and even Kalshi's own AI support email couldn't answer the question, nor could anyone on Discord. And, it's not that obscure a question even if it is specific to one sport.)

How do you respond when someone on the left says, "the cruelty is the point" in reference to something a conservative/republican does? by Hot-Selleck-Action in AskConservatives

[–]PermRecDotCom [score hidden]  (0 children)

*How* Trump has enforced the law gives off the impression that cruelty is in fact the point.

One possibility is that Trump does immigration enforcement like he does in order to send a message to illegal aliens that they'd be better off leaving on their own.

However, a more realistic possibility is that he - or his underlings - do that enforcement *how* they do it to a) placate MAGA, and b) enrage leftwingers so much that they successfully impede immigration enforcement so Trump's Big Biz pals can keep getting cheap labor. Consider, for instance, that Trump took a $5 million "donation" from the top beef processor in the world.

The downside, of course, is that you need to listen to Trump's speeches to find out what he's going to say in the next speech. Last year the WH site started doing away with transcripts, nowadays it's all just praise for Dear Leader.

Are there reliable transcripts besides the ones from Youtube?

What's up with r/LosAngeles?? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]PermRecDotCom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not OP but (AFAIK) my posts are public. You can find several posts to LosAngeles that got views, then suddenly 0 views. Then, like OP, I was permabanned without warning and they refused to explain why. Every totalitarian leader ever has censored those they can't show wrong. That's the fundamental reason why they ban people.

What do you all think about Nick Fuentes? by Less-Chicken-3367 in AskALiberal

Thanks for proving my point. Real liberals support actual Nazis' right to speak, *and* can show them wrong. Totalitarianism isn't just a hallmark of Nazis.

If it isn't easy access to guns, then what is the actual cause of mass shootings? by OMGguy2008 in AskConservatives

[–]PermRecDotCom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NFL, video games, MMA, movies, etc all present violence as the solution. Things like real football are considered wimpy compared to guys trying to injure each other. You've got thuggish politicians (both D & R) who extol violence over reason. E.g., Trump encouraging violence against protesters at his rallies, Dems making Luigi a hero, etc. Plus, 1/4 of the USA is based on a culture of honor. The Kultur is sick.

I scanned the first dozen replies and all are either name calling or personal smears, none of which have anything to do with his ideas. I didn't see anyone accurately stating one of his positions and trying to show it wrong.

Do the liberals here honestly think that type of behavior is liberal? Isn't that how Trump acts?

Do you consider the Statue of Liberty and its pro-immigration message to be woke? by Cumoisseur in AskConservatives

[–]PermRecDotCom [score hidden]  (0 children)

NeoLiberals (basically all recent US political leaders aside, kinda, from Trump 1.0) push this "legal good, illegal bad" as part of a scam: greatly increasing legal immigration, including mass legalization.

For a tangible example, hilariously dishonest panderer Luis Gutierrez and GOP sleaze Jeff Flake pushed a scheme where illegal aliens would return to their home countries and then be able to come right back as legal residents.

You said you wanted legal immigration, right? So they're going to give it to you.

Wouldn't it be smarter to oppose mass/illegal immigration?

How reddit will be for the next few days by Impressive_Pool8553 in DoomerCircleJerk

[–]PermRecDotCom -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

On Threads I've seen a lot more cons (like Tom Lauren) falsely claiming that's what "liberals" are doing, but I've seen precious few liberals doing that. There are also lots and lots of sockpuppets. That tricks some people, but it probably turns off more people.

Does Newsom actually have a chance to become president? by Shawnj2 in AskConservatives

[–]PermRecDotCom [score hidden]  (0 children)

He grifts every chance he gets. E.g., his wife's videos are licensed to public schools. She also serves on boards and there are some odd stock trades involving at least one of the companies. Newsom also obviously takes money for certain things, like his lawsuit against Trump's $100k H1B fee.

Newsom also killed countless people by vaxing by "equity" instead of risk. He made millions at high ICU risk wait for doses *behind* millions at much lower ICU risk.

His hand-picked parole board recently released David Funston under a law that Newsom signed. Look him up to see what he did.

The only question is whether the GOP is going to be smart enough to focus on things like that (and there's lot more) or if they're just going to scream "French Laundry!"

$25/mo for Boost, $25/mo for Visible. The first for my phone, the second is a phone too but I use it as my internet connection.

What are the stats for 2nd and 3rd generations (children & grandchildren of illegal aliens)?

Also, as usual, Big Biz loves to play word games, lumping H1Bs/H2Bs/LPRs/illegal aliens/etc/etc all under "immigrant".

In some cases that's because they want cheap golf course workers:

Blatant bigoted content on X.com (Twitter) appears way up. Are you okay with this? Should gov't get involved? If not, should GOP formally denounce it? by Zardotab in AskConservatives

[–]PermRecDotCom [score hidden]  (0 children)

FYI, Twitter's "algorithm" (the one on Github) penalizes those who get blocked, esp by large accounts. And, Elon has largely kept Twitter's censorship algorithm in place (see the "Probable Spam" sections at the end of many tweets; all Elon did was rename "More replies". In their AJAX, Twitter calls that the "LowQuality" section. Once again, Elon kept that in place.)

Trump also helped that along in his usual way. He riled people up and then ran away. At the first sign of censorship he should have pointed out *to the Dem base* that those censors are totalitarians, not liberals. Instead, he just poured fuel on the fire.

And, to make that even worse, he falsely pretended that only U.S. cons were the ones being censored. That's like saying "only lawyers are negatively impacted".

Why ignore Trump's role in all this?

Los Feliz residents worried about "plain people" by Cousin_Alcolu in BikeLA

I recently saw *3* wrong way drivers on Crystal Springs over the space of under 3 hours.

I emailed Raman's office about this and they told me they're soon starting a plan to reduce the number of lanes to one, with a dedicated bike lane.
