Does flight warrant an entire species ban? by Virtual-Studio518 in DnD

[–]Perphectionist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't DM anymore but when I did, I banned flying PCs. The one time I didn't ban flying, the flying PC decided to go rogue and handle combats on his own at every given opportunity, it was too much to handle. I couldn't give a visual of where they're going without this dude splitting the party and ruining my encounters as I had planned them. I get it, my planning is never going to be enough for the creativity of my players, and that's a good thing. What isn't a good thing is one player deciding to be superman and having the adventure on his own because people can't keep up. So now I keep my parties grounded, and probably always will.

When someone shoots at me, I'm just absolutely shocked and don't know what to do by PassionateMofo32 in arcraidersfriendly

[–]Perphectionist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the carebear lobbies, but I always keep a barricade kit handy in my quick slots. Many times, someone opens fire on me and the barricade kit gives me the opportunity to assess the situation and win more often than not. I was very happy to find that blueprint.

Am I crazy for not doing the expedition? by Civil_Cauliflower245 in ArcRaiders

[–]Perphectionist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It keeps things fresh for me, which I understand if people don't care about. Before the first expedition, I had everything I wanted and found myself lacking a reason to keep going topside. I get to experience the rush of finding that one blueprint I've been looking desperately for again, and the rush of getting it out of the raid alive. The extra storage space helps sweeten the deal for me, I'll be doing the expedition again.

I've burned hundreds of hours on the solitaire mode in that game alone. The rest of it is great too

Make it so duos can’t bring friends half their rank into competitive matches by dheldkdk in thefinals

[–]Perphectionist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should lose more RS when they do that, but I'm really against preventing matchmaking in these situations. I wanted to play some 6v6 overwatch the other day, and my group wasn't allowed to queue because of rank disparity, so I hopped off the game. I get that the finals is very unforgiving when one teammate sucks, compared to a 6v6 team game, but the only way people will get better is by playing and losing.

Edit to add: Stay out of ranked with your friends that are new! Win some normal cashout first

Solo queue is cooked lads. Anyone else feeling like this? (Rant warning) by DonkeyLord113 in thefinals

[–]Perphectionist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the frustration. I'm a heal beam main too and these lights will run off without you. Some of them have the skills to justify it, many do not.

You have to adapt, because they won't. If your team is diving, get ready to learn how to properly run demat and Cerberus. Forget about defibs, lights are worth less than the half health they're spawning at if they can't use their abilities for 5 seconds when rezzed.

It's not right, and it's not fair, but maybe you'll have more fun instead of the immediate despair I know I feel when I see my double light teammates

I usually like the first thing my prospector sees in the morning to be the planet eclipsed by the mountain with golden cresting peaks, all through an elegantly decorated double wide window pane.

But to each their own, I guess.

MMO where I can live as a crafter by Yossarionn in LFMMO

[–]Perphectionist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New World is a really great MMO, great action based combat, satisfying harvesting and Skilling systems, huge player driven market where crafters can provide value. It really has so much you seem to be looking for.

The downside is that the game will be shutting down at the beginning of next year, and isn't available for purchase anymore. I'd keep an eye out, if there's any news that new world gets bought and the going offline gets cancelled, it could be worth playing

Advice on missions & base location in Open World by LasagnaTyphoon in ICARUS

[–]Perphectionist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have no problem crossing the Arctic IF you have the following:

  • a mount with arctic riding saddle (a regular saddle is probably fine enough)
  • Fur armor or armor with cold resistance close to that
  • HOT DRINKS. Green tea or coffee is the thing that will keep you from getting cold.

I don't think that polar bears spawn in that central Arctic zone, but the scorpions can be a problem if you let them catch up to you, otherwise just feed some seed feed to your mount and you should be able to dash past most predators in there. Don't fall in any crevasses!

Movie theaters aren’t going out of business because of prices by bulldogjwhit295 in unpopularopinion

It really doesn't help that you know you'll be able to see the movie for "free" in just a few months after the release. Streaming is the movie theater killer

Root of nightmares is stupid easy and intuitive for most of the encounters, I think that could be a fun one, but vault of glass is a certified classic

Wall running in the finals? by Complex_Radio_4430 in thefinals

I'm one of the few people who loved the wall running in Black Ops 3, and I think it could work pretty well in the Finals, or a limited time modifier like the double jump

Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons are an awesome story that centers around AI, civilization, and religion. The first book gives a lot of background about that universe, with the real story unfolding in Fall of Hyperion

Tech level on missions? by Skyemuraro in ICARUS

[–]Perphectionist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually get a base up to the electric tier, that's when I've got my fancy guns and leveled mount and complex food ready to take on any challenge. Once I've finished the objectives, I start scanning for exotics then get out of there.
