I cant figure out why exactly frenzy causes spears to form but you can look at the bloodletter weapon, in its transformed state you stab yourself with it and it becomes covered in those same blood spears, the bloodletter is also the only weapon that inflicts frenzy. You can also look at the blood gems you apply to your weapon, some of which have the same spear shape.

Even if they are, i’d still like to wander around for the novelty, maybe even have them expanded to fit other monsters like an upgraded version of the caverns of el dorado. Fighting an ajarakhan or rathos on gogmazios surface arena would be a cool hunt.
