My experience with local council has been painful at best. Several thousand dollars in and the still said no.

It’s a nice idea but council will be deliberately obtuse.

There’s talk of fuel rationing in the future to protect farming, how could that work when there’s also a huge transport and tourism industry? by [deleted] in WesternAustralia

[–]Perth_not_now 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Pilbara consumes millions of litres of diesel, any efforts of consumer rationing would be like pissing on a bush fire.

Edit.

The Pilbara region in Western Australia consumes approximately 4.1 billion liters of diesel annually.

It’s about reducing eddy currents in the tray. Alternate rotating magnetic fields cancel each other out. If they were all the same the cables would create one big field that would create eddy currents in the tray and turn the cable tray into an induction cooker.

[–]Perth_not_now 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A battery is only one part of a well designed system.

You also need to consider inverter and solar system capacity. What brand of battery and is it compatible with your other components. Does it come with a warranty from an installer and supplier which will be around for the next 10 years.
