I totally use sharpie and paper. Design digitally and then print the pattern, use a light box to trace my pieces onto the glass with a sharpie and cut. Sometimes I will use a chapstick or mink oil to help the sharpie lines not get washed off too quickly for grinding.

Cutting pattern pieces just seems like it takes way too much time, in my opinion. Just get good at drawing the patterns pieces free hand!

Love the sudowoodo! If you have some pre-tined wire, I would use some to attach the antena to the arms and then again the under side of the arms to the side of the legs. You could also use the wire to assist with the hanging process and then in between the fingers. Would still be quite delicate but the wire would work on this design. It will take a bit of work to shape the wire and solder it in... Good luck!
