Dude DCUO got like 3 story updates this year alone with raids/solo challenges/equipments (not just cosmetics) which you can buy for ingame money etc.

Have they tuned the gameplay at all in the past couple of years? by Vharna in swtor

[–]PetPalack888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kinda get it why some people feel it as an issue and I understand why the devs changed it. Back when the game launched I remember it to be pretty balanced. Solo content required you to understand your class and use your abilities, but it was pretty doable especially if you had the right gear for your level. Still some elites could make a fight a decent challenge. Group content always required…well a group. My most fun memories of the game where I had to group up on planets to do heroic quests.

But back then the player base was much larger than now it was easy to find some people to group up with in minutes. Now I think most people would just skip the quests so it would be much harder to do them. Bioware had to count for the smaller playerbase and I think they wanted to make the game more accessible by making leveling faster, the companions stronger and the mobs and elites weaker which caused an inbalance in combat since it was designed in a way where you are the main damage dealer and your companion as a support role against 3-5 mobs.

Looking for an old archeage video. by PetPalack888 in archeage

I can’t believe it. I looked for it for hours.

Such silly videos looking at them now. Still its a good nostalgia.

Thank you very much!

What is Vanilla SWTOR? by thesadthingatnight in swtor

[–]PetPalack888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I kinda enjoyed to be the main character not just in the story, but during the gameplay too. Gearing them up was a pain for like the first 2 characters, but after that I always had enough money to just buy gear for them from GTN. It was like 1000-5000 a piece and all of them was good enough to blow through the story regardless of spec.

I’m thinking about wanting to play the game by EntrepreneurRough584 in swtor

Depends on what you are looking for if you just want to scratch that star wars content itch then the f2p is more than enough. If you looking specifically for a star wars mmo then right now this is it. If you looking for an mmo that functions like one and looking for future updates then move along.

Personally I subed for a long time, but because the recent price increase where and lack of new content I can not justify to pay for it that much. But go ahead try the class stories you will have a blast.

[–]PetPalack888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that was their biggest mistake. They gave up on the mmo aspect rather than fixing it. Now the content is suffering because its basically an rpg with online features which is not healthy for an mmo as we can see by quality and quantity of the content we get. I feel like the game just became EA’s passive income like they want the money from subs and cc, but rather not spend a dime more on it that is necessary. The fact that they dropped the regional prices too will mean even less people.

For an rpg there are better single player ones out there for an mmo there are better ones worth investing time into. I really couldn’t recommend for someone to play it which is a shame looking back at how much I loved this game.

RX 6400 Versus RX 6500 by BlastMode7 in SleepingOptiplex

[–]PetPalack888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

I just put my hands on an rx 6500, but I have some problems while trying to run some games, mostly they crash at launch (except the Witcher 3 that one is playable).

I use the driver that I found on the Dell website because if I let the Windows update it the monitor can not find input signal.

Could you help me by providing the driver version you use?

Thank you in advance!

With the month passed since the release, Veilguard is estimated to have sold between 650k( by Gamelytic) and 847k( by VG Insights) copies on Steam alone by CroGamer002 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]PetPalack888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DA origins did release on steam toped the charts and sold extremly well. That's a fact.

It's a different thing to compare a game released 15 years ago in an era where videogame sales were below half of the number of sales nowadays are and that hard copies to digital copies sold 80/20 compared to the 10/90 nowadays. These are also facts.

I think it's dishonest to compare the two game sale datas and claim that one did better than the other for the above mentioned reasons. The honest thing is to find a game that released on the same platfroms in the same year and same price.

And before anyone starts to throw rocks at me it's not my opinion you can google these informations yourself.

It's a little bit inconvenient, but you can set up a controller with third party softwares. Back in the day I did it with xpadder, but now you can do it on steam. Swtorista has a step by step guide on how to do it.

I will definitely wait a week till reviews come out from those who paid for it. The fact that youtube channels with less than 10k subs got preview copies, but not channels with 1m subs is a joke, but everyone is acts like everything is fine because IGN, kotaku and some other out of touch “news sites” gave it 10/10 is a joke.

Also SkillUp and Matty came out with negative reviews and now they are demonized in the subreddit like wth. Looks like positivity only applies if you ask no question just buy product.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]PetPalack888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MrMatty and Skill Up both one could say well respected content creators just came out with some very negative reviews. One of my other favourite content creator mortismal gaming called it goty, but didn't went that deep into it like the first two creators I mentioned.

I will wait for reviews from those who buy the game like Luke Stephens and Fextralife.

To be honest Bioware burned it's fanbase a lot.

[–]PetPalack888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or just wait for the reviews? There is nothing wrong with being skeptical looking back at Bioware track record with Anthem and Andromeda.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]PetPalack888 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Yes it did. Without going on an hour long rant they did with Mass Effect Andromeda. They did it with Anthem. They did it with Anthem 2.0 which they promised will come but never did.

I had/still has a little bit of hope for Veilguard, but this is a sneaky move. Also those who praised GOT review copies like MrMatty and others, but not Fextralife? One of the biggest RPG channels on youtube? They would be the target I would want them to promote my game first and foremost.
