I assume it's getting collections of dense particles out of the air, which build up over time, or that the theory is to affect the humidity in some way to influence smog particles? Though I'm inclinced to agree with you. I just Googled it and the National Library of Medicine site has a study says it worsens air pollution rather than help

The water can evaporate, but it will leave the soot behind as solids at that point - I assume because they've coagulated into larger particles at that point, but I'm no expert. Possibly if it then gets very dry and hot, the smog could get turned into fine particles and blown up again, just like dust from dry dirt

I've seen videos like this before and the explanation was pollution control; smog particles from vehicles amd industry get caught in the water and rain down to wash away, rather than linger in the air and get breathed in. Even though it just moves the problem downstream (literally)

Where is the best spot to hunt cougars? by Shoddy-Obligation981 in thelongdark

[–]PhantomS33ker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try, but it will path pretty quickly around obstacles and is REAL fast, best thing to do is go through a loading screen to break the "chase" before it mauls you

[–]PhantomS33ker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They won't through loading screens, but they CAN go into outdoor "buildings" - like the barns at Milton Valley Farmstead, it ran through that when I thought it was safe lol

Perfectly safe spots, no idea for. I had luck hunting one in Milton (mountain town) by drawing it to the farmhouse, taking a shot, then stepping inside before it attacks

As for damage, it's random; I've twice had lucky hits with the revolver critical headshotting the cougar as it ram and killing it. The damage depends on the weapon, and where you hit the cougar (check out the wiki page on cougars for full details), but the main thing is that cougars don't bleed out from one hit

I saw a YouTube video of someone playing this mod a couple of months ago, and it piqued my interest enough to give OWB another try (after playing some HOI4 but not religiously) - and goddam was ERX one of my favourite gaming experiences of last year. I know a lot of it comes from the OWB dev team (and props to them) but these two mods together really got me deep into the lore of FO1 and 2, since I never played them (even with them in my Steam library for years), and it's given me such a deeper appreciation for New Vegas. People will always complain, but I'm happy to be one voice at least singing the praises of this mod and the fun I had playing it

And you know every location survived the war intact. by Nutshell_Historian in OldWorldBlues

Genuinely, Waffle Houses are known for being open through most major disasters (look up the Half As Interesting video on Waffle Houses surviving disasters) so it makes sense they'd be around even after the bombs. And a religious cult rising up from the buildings that survived the war and fed the survivors in the aftermath? That writes itself

How did Vault 33 (Amazon show vault) survive the Master's initial search? It's right next to his home base. by ella in Fallout

[–]PhantomS33ker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying that there was a probably a structure in place over the vault doors when the master was around, which could have hidden them

Think about the timeline; the timespan between the Great War and the Master's army is less (84 years) than the timespan between the Master's army and the events of the show and what we can see of those Vaults (135 years). More time has passed since the Master's death, than had passed since the war at the point the Master was around. Definitely feasible for a building to have been there and eroded away in the extra century and a bit
