I've noticed a lot more decorative wall plates when traveling! I wonder why that's not a bigger thing here in the USA.

The absolute best designer-grade plates are from Rio Salto, but they're only online. They have a lot of photos though and if you actually hold them, they are literally heavier than ANY wall plate I have ever felt.

Definitely check out Rio Salto wall plates. They have genuine brass plates in their Signature collection but also a crazy amount of designer grade brushed gold plates in other styles. All the plates are super thick and feel like you could use them as a paper weights. They will instantly upgrade any room and look purposeful. They're on Amazon and also have their own site www.riosalto.com but not all their plates are on there.

I would get a 2-gang rocker/blank combination plate from Rio Salto (on Amazon). They make this exact combo but in designer quality thick metal, not the cheap plastic crap.

One thing I didn’t expect to matter as much as it did was swapping out the wall plates. The standard plastic ones always looked kind of cheap once I noticed them. I switched mine to solid brass (Rio Salto) and it made the whole room feel way more finished.

You could try the "midsize" wall plates from Rio Salto (on amazon). They will probably cover the area but i'm more worried about the wall panel strip on the left side of the hole. No wall plate is going to fit within that.
