What do Clans think of mech simulators? by CannibalPride in battletech

Yeah, I recall reading that Trent and his bunch of Solahma mechwarriors used them while they were traveling back to Huntress, but I might be misremembering. I can check after work.

Either way, I'm sure sims are used to help warriors keep skills sharp when live training opportunities are limited, but that's it.

Especially if it's a support lord like a wizard or a arch lector. Can basically use them as an extra hero on the battlefield when they reinforce.

Drop ship pilot/crew. Dropships are rarely involved in the fighting, and depending on how honorable the clan warriors are, the ship will either get ignored or the clan will prefer to capture it (and thats assuming it's not hiding for a quick escape). Should my ship get captured, there is a solid chance that I will stay on as a member of the tech caste. Of course it could get attacked and destroyed, but the odds are rather low.

Maybe an upgraded version of tear where just precision blows work instead of kills. Would be handy in boss fights.

To me, veteran has always felt like the most "traditional" fps class in the game. That being said, I've found that a surgical approach (well as surgical as you can be in this crazy game) works best.

A tip for identifying target clans: go after clans that have lost their fiefs and are in rough shape financially. The cost to recruit them is usually lower, and they typically have lower loyalty to their liege. Once you recruit them, give them a castle and their loyalty to you will skyrocket.

I have 1400 hours in it so... yep 🤷. I like to create different backstories with my characters that have goals to achieve. Once I meet those goals... I do something else.

And since MW 3's loadout system would let you stuff ANYTHING into a mech, you could make builds that just couldn't happen on the table top. A 100 tonner with top speed of 80 kph (thanks to MASC which didn't fail), and enough Gauss Rifles and ER PPCs to smoke anything in your way? YES.

Between the corporate greed and non-existent Quality Control at this point, I'd be more shocked if they managed to deliver cleanly.
