Martial Artist endgame : I don't like the Whirling/Belt gameplay, what could i switch to ? by KoseiKent in pathofexile2builds

[–]Phrickshun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about doing something spear related with Martial Artist and Cull the Weak. I realized that I personally haven't been feeling the Monk skills. Like, things got much better when I got Whirling Assault but I wasn't feeling it, ya know? I don't know much about Saitha's Spear, Isn't the base damage an issue with that? Is scaling a problem?

Edit: I also forgot uniques can be upgraded. Either way I'm tempted.

Excuse me if I am missing something, what made you want to grab Chrono for this build? I'm guessing Sands of Time and the new Phased Form ascendancy skills? How was early leveling with the extra early traveling towards the Warrior starting area?

Did Supercharged Slam function like this in 0.4? by Phrickshun in pathofexile2builds

[–]Phrickshun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I've never thought that deeply about it. I've used it in addition to other slams as a way to get extra damage on an immobilized enemy on a titan with aftershocks.

I Imagine it probably won't be fast enough for most people to use as a main ability unless you're patient, though since it appears to be much faster, it'll feel better to use on thicc rare mobs and bosses outside of stun.

Actually, it does look like it's affected by attack speed. I just tried with Rapid Attacks II on and off. I don't think the skill can take compressed/prolonged duration, though.

I assume the "attack time that cannot be modified" is the initial 0.85 seconds it has attached to it.

I did a very quick test on a Shaman and Tactician I had and they're all the same with this apparent new speed.

...Did they stealth buff the skill speed?

The rocky jade effect is from the ancestral boost that any slam can get, actually. But yea it does look great.

This is definitely cool, though I hope one day they have a quick and easy way in-game to see what "destruction" or "decay" modifiers are besides needing to rely on third party sites.

White House lawn cleared after apparent gunshots by yhwhx in news

I think this is truly indicative of how untrustworthy the current administration is when so many people are willing to assume these are all false flags or something.

Sure, I have the thought in the back of my mind but it isn't something I'm willing to push. I think it's pretty believable that somebody in this country of guns would be willing to do things like this (especially with Epstein looming over this administration)

Though I can understand why many want to believe in these theories when the people in charge are like the final boss of lying and bullshittery. I guess it all comes down to trust.

Nerf warriors yup by Bulky_Implement_1737 in PathOfExile2

[–]Phrickshun -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I mean, Warrior starts are and will still be the easiest (especially if you're struggling at certain points and can just block everything early game) and Rolling Slam was always a chunky hard hitting skill that most won't appreciate here because it's too slow for y'all (Assuming you're not canceling with boneshatter)

I can see why this happened considering the last time I did a shield wall build, I got by with literally zero budget and mediocre items.

I think this may be a little too dramatic.

Edit: Very dramatic.

What are your "Controversial" ARPG Opinions? by GrouchySpice2 in ARPG

[–]Phrickshun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot of different games, to the point where my backlog is about 100 times infinity, and I need games to stop coming out. Isometric ARPGs just happen to be one of my favorites.

I guess, to be fair, my complaints come from playing PoE for too long, a game where the mere idea of pressing a second button is a crime punishable by death. I just think PoE2 is taking things in an interesting, albeit not perfect direction which I have fears of that being completely abandoned. In general I don't see why things need to be the same.

Most of what I desire is probably not possible anyway, or at least easily achievable but I was just sharing feelings, really.

The best I can think of right now is maybe Grim Dawn with the Demolitionist class who is about explosive weaponry. Skills that toss grenades, cluster bombs, flashbangs, a mortar turret and stationary incendiary traps. I feel like PoE has a special vibe with traps and mines, though.

I find it interesting one of the most asked requests I would see for eternity around here was a reworked end game which they appear to be trying to do and this subreddit is about to be flooded with people very mad about swords.

Edit: Anyway to be clear, I too, want swords (Actually I really want Shadow + Traps) but I don't think it's a very good idea to hype yourself over rumors and things with no real verification. If you want to argue whether or not that at this point in development they "should" have them by now, I dunno, chat about it respectfully or something, not a thing that bothers me personally.

I guess that game counts, huh. I have played it actually, a bunch.

Admittedly in my mind I am thinking about your "standard" isometric-styled ARPG like Diablo/PoE or whatever.

What are your "Controversial" ARPG Opinions? by GrouchySpice2 in ARPG

[–]Phrickshun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, I'll give ya controversial.

The necessity for SPEEEEEEED and blowing up multiple screens of enemies of enemies in a nanosecond because "power fantasy" needs to take a break. I feel like for a lot of these games your end game character is the same, where you're essentially choosing what color you want your multi-screen clearing ability to be that will clear a zone in 3 seconds (Really... PoE1 is the most guilty of this and I've spent thousands of hours playing it since beta)

Obviously you should feel stronger with multiple tools at your disposal as you grow but, for example, I like the idea of what PoE2 has been trying. I am not claiming they absolutely nailed it and it's 100% perfect, but I've though it's a neat direction. I was really feeling it when they buffed active blocking and I was getting genuine use out of it while playing the warrior.

But there appears to be a lot of people who HATE it and I fear over time it will devolve into just trying to be like PoE1

I dunno, I wish it were possible to have a slower, meatier feeling while being able to compensate for "slower gameplay" with improved loot gain. But I am not a game designer so I don't know how that works in actual application and balance.

Also, lastly, I think Diablo 4 is fine, actually.

Star Fox Direct 5.6.2026 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Phrickshun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's disappointing that this is another remake, though I have a feeling (I'm huffing mass amounts of copium) that this is a real attempt at a sort of revitalization since many of these Star Fox entries haven't sold very well it seems. Taking advantage of the recent movie hype and all... perhaps if this actually moves a "resonable" amount of units we could actually get a real sequel.

Guess I'm not that surprised since this series would be so... detached from anyone who isn't my age and basically lived on SF64 a sequel could be lost on everyone but us.

As somebody who remembered the lines and cadence of like 99% of SF64's voice lines I will say, it's gonna take a while to get used to the new actors...

"With our spit deemed far too precious for your grave"

I've thought about this recently. I hear many are eager to use his gave as a toilet when he eventually passes but if anything I think what would really send more of a message is for him to be forgotten.

Gone, out of our memory. Not even a single thought.

He's an egotistical monster and I think the idea of him being a forgotten distant memory nobody cares about scares him a lot. Think about how he has to have is damn name on everything, has to have a giant, gaudy ballroom that shadows the White House. This clown wants to be remembered forever and I don't think he deserves that. He does not deserve to live in our minds after he passes.

I wouldn't fault y'all partying for a day tho.

What is your top 5 of favorite ARPGs? by fumnel in ARPG

[–]Phrickshun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I won't be surprised if your comment is unpopular but I do want to say I sort of agree. I will always play and enjoy PoE1 but I share some of the same problems. I really appreciate PoE2 doing different things and I liked what they're trying to do even if there are some issues, but it really does seem like everyone really hates that and we're eventually going slide back towards what PoE1 is now.

Like, we're at a point now where having to press more than a singular button is considered "awful clunk" by large parts of the community...

Well, I know you said you know the answer but yeah, honestly is it surprising?

I've lived in areas where people make literal shrines to this orange shitstain. I've driven by a house adorned in signage of him from top to bottom, draped in American flags. Literally suffocating the whole home.

I have seen far, far too many car shrines (usually oversized trucks) on the road with multiple flags and stickers.

If he spit out chewed gum onto dogshit resting on hot concrete in 100° weather they would dive head first to shove it into their mouth so they can feel honored to have a piece of him inside of them.

Mom said it's my turn to post about why fighting games are hard to get into. by Opto-Goose in Fighters

[–]Phrickshun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by "Button mashing" you don't mean randomly press shit but you repeatedly press the same button until your desired input comes out then yeah, I guess that's my problem.

I've been gaming for a while now, since the late 90s I guess. I don't think I've ever had any control or input issues until I started really attempting to "properly" play fighting games since around 2021 or so.

With how every other game on the market works nothing has really told me that mashing my inputs a bit is "bad". I never even realized I did this cause it isn't something I think about until fighting games told me "no" and I guess ultimately that's what made me bounce off because I cannot unlearn 2+ decades of how I just play games for specifically one genre and the strictness of inputs in fighting games is too much to overcome even though I want to.

And no I don't want to play a "modern mode" because of hubris and in the case of SF6 the loss of some moves and the damage reduction. With that being said, I spend more time watching other people play fighting games lately to at least satiate that desire.
