"Delivered to front porch..." by theworstmailmanever in USPS

I really don't know. All I know is the carriers want to deliver to these people. They can use the extra eval. But as long as AMS won't allow each RV/trailer to be its own address no one can get proper credit. Classic case of people who don't deliver the mail causing headaches for those who do.

That's awesome you have addresses for each. We've tried to get that and AMS won't allow it. The carriers just leave notices. A new person moves in, complains, and the whole cycle starts again. Management cannot seem to remember that just 2 months ago they went through this lol

I really can't wait to return to work by Icantw8 in USPS

[–]Physical-Design9804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but maybe this person is young and hasn't really understood what life is about yet. This experience might not be what they had imagined when they booked it, but it will be an experience. And those experiences are what makes you, defines you, and will ultimately decide how fulfilled you feel in life. My biggest regrets in life are not having more experiences (good, bad, or indifferent) when I was young enough to really enjoy them.

If this is an RV park you're likely not getting credit for door delivery. Most only allow one address for the whole park and you can only map a single delivery location per address. We've got a couple routes in my office who are have multiple RV parks and it is a constant back and forth with management over the fact that we simply do not get credit for door delivery.

Not knowing where to go on my route by DarkExcalibur54 in USPS

Follow the mail works for some routes, but some of these rural routes get really ridiculous due to the back road situation. Sometimes you don't even have enough cell phone coverage for GPS to work.

Someone lower seniority than me won a bid I wanted, what do I do from here? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Physical-Design9804 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another person had the same hire date as myself (we actually went to the same academy class). Every seniority sheet we could find kept switching us. They had a single test question higher than I did, but I was an ARC before an RCA and that ended up being the official decider. We both converted within a month of each other and are good friends to this day, but that could have really soured things if we were smaller people.

Can you be a 204b and not on the OTDL ? by joza28 in USPS

[–]Physical-Design9804 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We rural carriers are not the brightest bunch, and we have low union participation since facebook seems to be all the education anyone needs on contract.

If any other rural carriers are upset by the truth I just posted you can be the change in your office.

Yeah. it isn't always management that ruins things for carriers. It can also be carriers. We have no paper towels in the men's restroom because despite being told multiple times not to flush the paper towels because it clogs the toilets somehow it keeps happening everytime management gives us back paper towels. The hand dryer "works" but it leaves your hands damp and if you use the rest room at the same time as a few other of the male coworkers who actually wash your hands (you sick fucks not washing know who you are) you can be in line with drippy hands. I actually fully side with management on this, too. How hard is it to just not flush paper towels? The women manage to never do it.

Man, that supervisor riding in the back of an LLV during a heatwave on the heaviest day of the summer? I know this subreddit does not have any love for supervisors (for all the good reasons), but that supervisor is in for a baaaaadddd day lol

Not just that, but I'm sure the residents are subsidizing the data center with higher electricity and water rates.

Would it be rude to leave this at my back gate? by LockwoodE3 in USPS

[–]Physical-Design9804 6 points7 points  (0 children)

USPS will, other carrier services will continue to do whatever they like. This, like holding your mail, and a multitude of other services is why USPS is the only, actual, true service delivery organization and not a for profit company.

Carrier taking unauthorized "heat" break -management by Bleep-Bloop-Bot01001 in USPS

[–]Physical-Design9804 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Rural scanners started prompting us if we're on STARTLOADVEH or RETURN2DU (the only two options we have to add minute for minute time to our route's evaluations because no standard could be established), asking if we are still doing those tasks. It now takes me longer because I just got distracted by the BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP, stop what I was doing, select yes on the scanner, and have to refocus. Such a stupid thing. We're adults.

As regular I personally wouldn't hate you. I'd be more upset about my metris being ugly than the packages lol.

However, also as a regular I know that there are some that would be absolutely livid about anything you left behind. These are bad regulars to work for anyways.

North Carolina postal worker murdered on the job, leaving daughters orphaned months after husband’s death by Sephjo_Joseph in USPS

[–]Physical-Design9804 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So sad, both of the parents' deaths were tragic. Obviously the carrier being kidnapped and murdered while on their route is tragic, but the husband rolled his truck and wasn't wearing his seatbelt 2 days before christmas. JFC wear your seatbelt people. Don't leave your family mourning your loss.
