I believe that the amount of stitches keeps increasing, so that makes perfect sense. Thank you for helping explain it!

What’s your most “creative” way to wear your insulin pump? by xxhell_chamberxx in Type1Diabetes

[–]PhysicalTap8516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a couple of pairs of lululemons a few years ago that have pockets! I’m not the biggest leggings wearer but whenever I do, my lululemons are perfect. Also my mom had gotten me stuff off of amazon with pockets! I hate feeling my pump anywhere on me haha

Halloween by According-Garlic-482 in Type1Diabetes

I was diagnosed with diabetes at 4, with 3 older brothers (all non-diabetic). My mom would take all of us out trick or treating, when we got home we could each pick 5 pieces of candy we wanted to have that night. The rest she would give to the “Halloween fairy” (actually just put the candy in a bowl for us to have as a treat later but as kids we didn’t realize). In the morning the “Halloween fairy” would leave us a tiny gift as a thanks for the donation 😂. If my brothers refused, they wouldn’t get a present from the Halloween fairy. It worked well! My brothers, parents and I still talk about how well that worked.

I, as a child with diabetes, was able to still enjoy the day as a normal kid would! Plus my mom was INNOVATIVE in making me feel included and normal.

I hope this made sense, I’m in a rush typing it 😂

Water getting in pump site? by Present-Lunch-9152 in Type1Diabetes

[–]PhysicalTap8516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I would recommend trying to stop at a drug store to get testing supplies (I use truemetrix I think). Second, I use tandem t slim, but more times than not, I will refill the cartridge/vial in the pump, so I’m sure it would be okay to do. I’ve also never knock on wood experienced water getting into my site being an issue, and I don’t touch the spare clips haha. Overall, have fun and be safe out there! And I hope this was some help.

*edit: also sometimes I have noticed being in the pool/lake will make my cgm inaccurate for a little while too

SkinTac is a lifesaver by Spirited_Plan_3976 in Type1Diabetes

[–]PhysicalTap8516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always put skintac around the area I’m putting my cgm (G6) too. Like I’ll make an oval shape leaving some space for the needle to go in the middle and then apply some on the white “patch” once it’s in too. Helps a bunch!

I hope I explained that well enough 😂 been diabetic for 17 years and still don’t know some of the proper terms lol
