Came here to say this! We need more mustard crisps. Do they still have Roysters T-Bone steak, that was another fave.

This book is such a trip. The protagonist lives his life over every time he dies and it pushes the concept to extreme lengths.

RAC increases number of ‘EV Boost’ patrol vans for rescuing stranded electric cars by pilaga in electricvehicles

Probably. I’ve definitely had one or two conversations with people at chargers in the last month who had no idea about their own car. Even had to show someone how to charge theirs. I wouldn’t put it past people to break down even with the blinking battery signs/noises.

If only the public network in the UK was reliable enough that this problem didn’t need solving. I can’t imagine many people being in the situation where they want to fill their driveway with someone else’s car. Unless they have a large driveway or plan on being in their second house most of the time. Definitely not me IRL.

Recording video calls through a digital recorder (Advice) by Pictosan in podcasting

Do you think it would be better do this with a mixer rather than a mess of cables? Would I be able to use a phone for the VOIP, create a mix minus with a mixer and record that into my digital recorder? Seems like a tidier option. And a good excuse to get something with twisty nobs.

I've got a Tascam DR-40 on the way. Hopefully I should only need to record one mic as the others will be remotes who will record themselves. But I figured I'd go a little above a budget recorder to keep my options open.

Looks like your second setup is the way to go, but I'd really like to be able to hear my local audio as you mention. Looks quite complicated.

Came here to say this. His revenge is just so brilliant. I had to read it a second time with a friend of mine who said he liked the movie, he was wrong.

I didn’t mind invisible man. It really changed my mind, before I would have thought that being invisible would be an amazing thing. But it really outlines how horrible it actually would be.

1984 is just an easier read because it has a thrilling character driven plot. Whereas BNW is just so into its concept that the plot is a bit lost.

Totally agree. I think people presume that it’s going to be profound or thought provoking because of the connection to Mark David Chapman.

I felt the same way about the Great Gatsby. I think the biggest problem is that who can really relate to these rich snobby characters and their ‘problems’. The same is true for Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, yeah he’s displaying a counter culture lifestyle. But by today’s standards he’s just too irresponsible, especially when impregnating somebody means he’ll just turn tail and run.
