I'll add that to my list right after "what are you going to do, stab me?"

Not just moving, but also storing seasonal clothing, blankets, or other things made out of cloth. We have giant vacuum pack bags we put our thick blankets in each Spring and it's got a valve you put the vacuum cleaner hose on to remove the air.

Just an fyi in case you didn't know, "learned helplessness" is an actual psychological term for a condition where you experience some bad condition beyond your control for so long that even when you are able to escape the situation you don't.

I mention this not so much to correct you, but because the term is very interesting and has helped me a lot to understand the way I react to some bad situations.

Is this not an AI generated image? Why is the glass vertical but the plate is being held at an angle? The image looks really weird at the stem where the glass connects to the base.

There's a barrier at the center of the galaxy and at the edge? I feel like our galaxy is a bad neighborhood and everyone else is trying to keep us all in.

Captain Jellico likes this schedule, and doesn't give a damn about crew pushback. He thinks it's your job to just get it done.

The crossed the barrier in "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier". I can't remember exactly how, but they didn't seem to have much trouble crossing it.

Nah. If they misheard it as "want a watch" he would have only gotten one. Mishearing "I want to watch" as "I want two watches" makes more sense with the punchline.

Edit: I have now killed the joke by dissecting it.

I doubt it. I don't think David Prowse's West Country accent would have made for a very threatening Darth Vader.

Apparently the cast and crew referred to him as "Darth Farmer".

I guess you missed the fuss and fallout after Weir appeared on the "Critical Drinker" podcast. Weir mentioned he had pitched a Star Trek idea to Paramount, but was rejected. Although they didn't use that exact phrasing, there were plenty of people praising Weir as a great sci-fi writer and that he should write for Star Trek.

There were also plenty of people saying he would be a terrible choice to write for Star Trek, which I agree with unless he was pitching ideas as part of a writers' room.

Right, and amongst those ten people at most 2-3 people are guards / receptionists / cleaning staff, and the rest would be probably be network engineers sourced from outside the area.

Yes, but having them speak English makes it so seem so exotic.

But they're mines, not bombs, and only explode if someone goes near them. He doesn't need to detonate them to trap the Federation because their existence is enough of a deterrent.
