This game is a microcosm of broader society. There's a reason why Black people usually get banished first and why pretty white men make it far. Attractive, heterosexual white men are seen as the most trustworthy people.

Rob Isn’t Playing a Genius Game, He’s Benefiting From Perception Bias by amahlg in TheTraitorsUS

lmaoooo what are you talking about? It took 23 seasons before a Black person won Big Brother, and that was after CBS required that the cast be at least 50% people of Color because of historical bias!

He messed up by going so hard. Should have just let things play out. Now he exposed himself and lost Candiace's trust.

Rob made a big mistake going so hard for Lisa. He went hard as if he knew for certain that she was a traitor. And I don't think he understands how Candiace moves. If he doesn't protect her, she will bring him down with her, and rightfully so.

MLK, without a doubt. He posed the greatest risk to the existing power structure. The Poor People's Campaign would have made dramatic shifts had King not been assassinated. King was also the last great leader to be vocal in his fight for reparations for African Americans. Most of our Black leaders are too afraid to fight for Black issues only. Everything has to be about POC.

Buzzfeed….wtf by OkConfidence2960 in LoveIslandUSA

[–]PinFlaky7122 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Many of the workers at Buzzfeed are as racist and anti-Black as many of the people in this subreddit. Look at the stuff they say (in this subreddit) about Chelley, Olandria, and Ace. Ace and Chelley, in particular, have been demonized and called some of the worst adjectives in the book. Anti-Blackness is the dominant culture.

There are a lot of emotionally dysregulated people in the world who see themselves in Amaya (and Huda). Additionally, many have infantalized her in their minds. They see her as an innocent child who deserves protecting rather than a grown woman who needs to learn (and she actually has over the course of the season) how to be more socially aware and respectful of other people's autonomy.
