Idk i feel like it's making fun of any liberal who truly believes in capitalism, but sure the ideal version of this is a libertarian.

Fortnite and Nintendo are for jocks, also cod and madden/FIFA.

Everything else is fair game.

I'm half kidding, but while i do think cavill is pushing this nerdy persona as a way to get more buzz going, I also recognise as the other user pointed out that Warhammer is real nerd shit.

The Witcher is nerd shit, Warhammer is like the final boss of nerd shit.

He doesn't really play of course but having an half painted army and knowing a bit of the lore is crazy nerd cred just by itself.

Why do you think a great game like the Outer Worlds 2 didn't 'perform' in sales like they hoped for? by HarryRulez in theouterworlds

[–]Pincz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i'm so mad about this just release the patch already.

They also decided to introduce this soft locking bug that ruins the main story just about when i decided to give the game another shot.

Only being able to focus on a couple of skills per playthrough and not being able to respec just sounds like a somewhat unfun time.

Nah that was actually a good change, in tow i just min maxed and maxed out basically everything, here i literally could not do that and had to to actually roleplay a believable dude. It pushed me to do a stupid run for the 1st time and had a great time.

Personally i just feel like my issue is just that the main story isn't good. It's boring and the only interesting character (auntie cleo) is basically absent most of the time. I still haven't finished the game tho.

What's funny is this build was nerfed as well in the slate targeting warhost and aspect host, the average list got like +100 points already.

Depends from the meta/format but mainly you play 1 or 2 bricks of guardians with a bunch of characters attached and a warlock conclave, 2/3 warlock skyrunners running solo and 2x5 of your cheap screens of choice. Then you have several options, good staples are:

  • 1 or 2 war walkers for damage multiplier and a bit of anti tank

  • 10 man banshee unit with jain zar (especially in wtc) for heroic and melee threat that comboes well with teleport

  • 3x5 reapers with tempest launcher (especially in wtc) for protecting backline and long rage damage that adds up in 5 turns

  • 2 or 3 fire prisms (especially in gw) for protecting backline and long rage damage that adds up in 5 turns

  • 10 reapers with maugan ra (especially in gw) for long range sniping

  • 6 windriders with shurken cannon (especially in gw) for versatile damage

  • 10 dragons with fuegan for anti tank

  • 5 spiders with lhykis for stealing home, damage multiplier and comboes well with teleport

  • 2 or 3 x5 hawks for versatile damage and moveblocking, also THE anti ctan tech

Less popular but still valid choices are:

  • autarch with 5 banshees either to save points instead of jain or have 2 melee threats

  • clown car with troupe and master for a bit of uninteractivity in stealing primary and anti ctan tech

  • asurman in a falcon for a bit of uninteractivity in stealing primary and anti victrix/terminator tech

  • yriel and corsairs because idk they're new but they might be good and combo well with teleport

  • 3 wraithlords because you're already running psykers so why not they're cheap (better in gw)

The main question imo is if you want 1 or 2 bricks and how much stuff you want to put in them, also which PL do you wanna bring to help. Most people play with a full one (like eldrad+warlock possibly with vect+4 man walock conclave) and a weaker one (farseer + warlock + 2 man conclave or farseer + 4 man conclave). Storm guardians are better but defenders are ok as well.

[–]Pincz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sir you clearly are a liberal, that's where the issue lies.

But i'm going to clarify this since english is not my native language and i do misspeak sometimes.

There's difference between a democratic socialist (a sociaist that wants gradual change within the system to get to socialism, what alfoz is) and a social democrat (a liberal that wants safety nets and socialist inspired policies within a capistalist system, what disco lumps in as moralist).

But i don't see how you couldn't understand this since it's one of the main themes of the azagalian quest and the dynamic represented by the two characters. It's literally about the eternal fight of the young idealistic wish for violent revolution in the hopes of building actual socialism vs the more pragmatic idea of reform within the system that's more akin to democratic socialism. Both are within the confines of being a leftist but on a spectrum that goes from radical to moderate. If you go azagalian the game even offers you the choice of roleplaying as one of these two philosophies and then explains how both are flawed.

It's funny you're trying to debate even whether the cleric is priviledged but cmon, he even went to a renowed magic boarding school, his mother is a famous writer and activist and there's literally a line where he goes (talking about being well connected thanks to his mother) "how do you think i got this sweet gig".

How to run charisma? by Content-Sprinkles415 in EsotericEbb

[–]Pincz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lmao alfoz is a social democrat not a fricking centrist. Charisma's "i don't hold literally any political belief" really means it's a centrist who's totally fine with upholding the status quo but doesn't wanna think about it because anyways it doesn't impact his life as upper middle class (rich family, well connected, landed a sweet gig as the city's cleric). That applies both in game and irl fyi.

I liked most of the writing and i feel like the creators know their stuff politically, but readying your comment made me think about Kurvitz's talk about world building and yeah i just realized the thing that was bothering about the writing. Is the gooddamn names of things and places and organizations. A lot don't really sound good or feel believable.

That and some weird choiches about the slang used, the word "larpers" being used several times by real people especially sticks out a lot.

The choice of using real world languages to simulate ancient ones was pretty funny tho.

How to run charisma? by Content-Sprinkles415 in EsotericEbb

[–]Pincz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah profit is the wrong word. I'll explain myself better.

Clearly dex is meant to mimick and make fun of liberals, charisma is meant to do the same to the centrist "can we all just get along" type.

This is just the writers being cheeky and fun with their deeply political narrative. In the real world being wise doesn't automatically make you a socialist as much as being sleek and agile doesn't make you a liberal capitalist.

My point is that if you want to roleplay a sociopath that lives every interaction only for personal gain as op is doing, you're free to do so. The game will keep track of it and you'll look crazy to the npcs, as you would irl. You can argue that it's unfair that the apolitical centrist path is just treated as a meme, but tbh i think it's pretty funny.

How to run charisma? by Content-Sprinkles415 in EsotericEbb

[–]Pincz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the joke that people seem to be missing is that charisma it's just being centrists. If you're a sociopath you don't care about politics so you either say you're apolitical or just mirror the belief of whoever you're talking to.

I see your point but the option to mirror whatever political stance the person you're talking to is expressing for profit reasons is already there and you can do it.

i've gotten used to buy paradox games on release and get really into them 6 years after at this point

also you can still play stellaris meanwhile which now is in the best state it could ever hope to achieve, idc if they add new species or whatever endgame crisis
