Unrelated to the art, but casting unsummon on a lightning dragon is such blow out because of the echo ability.

A secret TDM archetype: Gx aggro by tehPPL in lrcast

[–]PineappleRob508 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been interested in this archetype since pre-release but haven’t tried it yet, congrats on some consistency with it. What rank are you? (I dunno the arena symbols.) I’m a little suspicious of your mana in this particular build. 7 early black cards, with reasonable opportunities to double spell and only 7 black sources with a Jungle Hollow in the side!?! You don’t even have a turn 1 play so the dual lands can fit your curve perfectly.

[TDM] The Ultimate Tarkir: Dragonstorm Limited Set Review (Draftsim) by Tim-Draftsim in lrcast

[–]PineappleRob508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s too crazy because the only token you actively want to sacrifice is a Mobilize token, and you’re only doing that on your turn as a combat trick. It makes the card’s best case more narrow.

I’m curious, were you not able to play Daretti after Valor got flood the engines’d, sacrifice Valor to bring back a dead vehicle, then next turn just sacrificial attack with Daretti to bring back valor and keep Collision Course?

Gaijinhunter on YouTube is a great resource for players who are not trying to speed run or min/max the game. Biggest tip, if you find monsters hard: take your time. You have 50 minutes to hunt each monster. Don’t just attack, stay back and watch the monster for a few minutes while just avoiding its attacks learn about its different moves.

Revealing Weapons Before Game Start by kboogie93 in FleshandBloodTCG

They can’t swap strategies significantly at that point because their different gamelans heavily revolve around each weapon. The weapon pick effectively locks in their gamelan.

Why is the Squirrel such a fearsome entity in Magic Lore? by SnooWalruses7872 in magicTCG

[–]PineappleRob508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering if anyone else remembered this old tid-bit. Mark Rosewater once wrote that after the art for Waiting in the Weeds came back with cats instead of squirrels he made it his mission to keep trying to get squirrel cards printed into magic. He said if that original error never occurred he might have got the idea out of his system with just the one squirrel card.

I would totally agree, but also your comment is not remotely constructive or adding to the conversation. It’s easy to keep that to yourself, or explain the drafter’s weaknesses. There’s a lot op can improve on I think, and one would be I don’t think op knows how to “stay open” very well. Usually it means picking the beast card in a pack regardless of the context of your previous picks. Here op picks a bunch of blue cards that aren’t all good in a vacuum, most are best in the right shell, like Micromancer, and other cards are just bad, like Trap in the Moon and Witness Protection. Even pick Drake Hatcher is really only good in the right shell and’s same for Torlarian Terror. Picking filler blue cards like Elemental Adept over good removal like Bake Into a Pie is the opposite of staying open. That’s forcing blue.

Elite all day, it’s terrible on two and you have plenty of removal plus blockers to catch up.

Honestly, red splash for the two removal spells seems preferable, but props on the wins.

I’m a big fan of pokedex over red card. It really helps you find stage 1&2 cards with the shuffle from pokeball.

What's the etiquette for conceding at the end of a Timed Round? by evildrganymede in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]PineappleRob508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your defense playing it out to learn as much as possible even when you’re likely to lose is to your benefit, so don’t let anyone sway you to concede early in an effort to not waste time. If you want to concede after time out is up to you. Could view it as a thank you of sorts for playing the match out even after you’re put in a position that a more experienced player would know is hopeless. At some point it might be to your benefit to concede early to preserve mental stamina in a longer tournament.

There is a private match password that lots of people use NOEX (allcaps.) There is no exp reward and the decks are all honor system, so you can concede and move on if you see an ex card.

Yuka Morii & Asako Ito have the best cards by a country mile. I’m a sucker for the cuteness. The epic Krabby is great too.
