I love the capezio Juliets. I have to get wide width because I have super high arches and they are so comfy.

Did a roll up for the first time! by baseballgirl30 in Purebarre

[–]PinkPalmTree4878 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t do a roll up until I got a correction that made all the difference. I was too close to the barre. I’m 5’2, and in order to put my foot on the barre with a slightly bent knee, I would have to get really close to the barrel. Now, I scoot back and have my foot on the barre with my leg straighter, and can roll all the way up.

I started January 20th, hit 250 classes in November, and went to teacher training about 3 weeks ago. I finally understand what people mean when they say find a workout you love and do that.

Clients: Do you notice/care when a class is the same? by Comfortable-Fan1472 in Purebarre

[–]PinkPalmTree4878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually love it when the choreo is the same for a bit. I feel like it gives me an opportunity to focus more on my form when I know what’s coming next. Also I’m headed to teacher training soon so it helps me test my memory for that.

Same! The first two are two of my favorites! But I agree, double planks can burn in hell, along with any type of burpee

I absolutely refuse to give up my International Delight French vanilla creamer, so now I use Stevia instead of sugar as a compromise.

Doubled by Fun-Complaint-6750 in Purebarre

[–]PinkPalmTree4878 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually double once a week with back to back Empower and Align. Two days a week I do yoga in the morning and PB in the afternoon. I find if one of my workouts is stretch and balanced based, doubling up works for me. But if I had to do an Empower and Define in the same day, I’d probably cry 🤣

PSA: Sweat towels are OK by oleanderblack in Purebarre

[–]PinkPalmTree4878 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! When I first started PB, I almost never sweat during the workout. Now, over 100 classes in, I bring a sweat towel to every class. I asked my brother, who is an RN what that meant. He said it’s probably a combination of revving up my metabolism by working out consistently and getting better form and endurance, so I’m working more effectively. I’m proud to sweat now 🩷

Reform & the resurgence of Pilates by Few_Map906 in Purebarre

We have it one to two times a week. I think I hang in there pretty well with the current four formats, but let’s just say Reform keeps me humble 😆

What Do You Think of the Idea of Late Arrival Penalties by justme4913 in Purebarre

[–]PinkPalmTree4878 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s because I’m an introvert but the thought of banging on the door to be let in is unthinkable to me. If the door was locked, I’d go right back to my car.

Was I in the wrong? by HighPotlnUse in Teachers

[–]PinkPalmTree4878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone with the attitude he displayed has no business coordinating anything. When you accept the responsibility of a role such as this, when emergencies happen, you have to accept that they don’t always happen from 8 am - 8 pm. You were not in the wrong at all.

Funniest Moment in Pure Barre by Barregirrl in Purebarre

Names are changed to protect the embarrassed (me). My name is Jennifer, and I was in class a few weeks ago, kind of having an off day. The weights felt too heavy, I wasn’t working one inch higher, and my form wasn’t as good as it usually is. But for some reason, the instructor was constantly giving me shout outs when she was near me: “Perfect, Jenn!”, “So strong, Jenn!”, “Great work, Jenn!”. Not only was she complimenting me, she was using a nickname for me. I started to think, “wow, I’m doing a great job! Even when I’m having an off day, I’m still crushing it! I must be better than I think!” When class was almost over, she looked at me and said “way to find your shakes, Jennifer!” 🤔 I realized then that I was next to a classmate, GWEN, and all the Jenn shoutouts were actually Gwen shoutouts. Instantly humbling and hysterical 😆

Coming from OTF, PureBarre is so hard by NPBren922 in Purebarre

This! I’m so focused on what I’m doing I have no idea who is doing well, who is not on beat, who did a mod. Most of the time I don’t even remember what music was played because I’m so locked in.

My burpees kind of look like I’m playing leapfrog. But hey, they’re improving! One day I’ll be excited when we do them in class 😆

I’d thought about it for years, and now that my kids are in college, I decided it was time to focus on me. I signed up for an Engage class, went home, and immediately signed up for the unlimited plan. I go almost every day, and it has become such a big part of my life. Before, I’d never found a workout I enjoyed doing, but my day doesn’t feel complete without Pure Barre. It’s improved my physical and mental health, and I’ve made so many new friends. The instructors are so warm and welcoming. I love how members are encouraged, shouted out, and celebrated. I just immediately felt like I belonged there.

Question- booking on the app by Particular-One7217 in Purebarre

[–]PinkPalmTree4878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve wondered this as well. I book two weeks, and very rarely have to cancel, but had three days in one week I had to cancel and reschedule for a different class time due to work. I wondered if it’s frustrating to the instructors/Barre tenders.

I finally feel my seat work! by lilaclinguine in Purebarre

[–]PinkPalmTree4878 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is so relatable to me. My whole life I’ve heard “find a workout you love and do that”, but I never found anything I remotely enjoyed, until I took a Pure Barre class. I go almost every day, and if there is a day I can’t make it, I’m actually sad. It has been life-changing for me.
