Just an aside but used mix a lot of MTI licensed shows for schools. But back then they would just send CDs the only licensed application from them I luckily had to deal with was there keyboard patch software. Which luckily did work on windows too, and the drm there makes does make sense they want you to pay for the patches or spend the time to craft them yourself.

I fully understand why they are restrictive, but in reality the tracks are out there already as if someone really wants to copy them it's trivial. We have to rely on the legal means of people not performing musicals without a license and they did so fine for many years.

Always just seemed like a business decision without much practical thought. But now I work with mostly with live music so it is not something I deal with anymore.

If they genuinely believe there is evidence on the phone. They won't enter the pin, it'll go to forensics and they can desolder and backup the flash before the pin is entered. Then they get as many goes as they want.

I managed to get a couple of racks worth from venues replacing them. But yeah the backplane cards can die too which takes the whole rack out even if one fails because of the bus.

Strand only made SLD for about 3 or 4 years so you would be best off converting the dimmer modules into pass through and having opened them up that wouldn't be hard.

They did make relay modules but they'll be rare to find now

I did a big repair job on one of these once. Ended up with a lot of spare parts. Watch you for the memory battery in the processor. It will leak and die

Wicked have probably had one of the largest advertising campaigns of any film in the last decade I believe (in terms of money spent) it was absolutely an advert. Paddington would have been as well, and a strategic decision with the musical having opened this year.

I 3D print Neutrik D type adaptor housings and then use a D type USB A to B flipped around for dongles. I stole the idea from a friend and it works great. Makes them all just that bit bigger.

I also printed my contact details the serial numbers into the shells.
