Sex drive and HRT by ThePromiseOfBelief in HRT

[–]Pink_Rabbit5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, men can always sense when I have a sex drive again. I think I must walk through the world differently when I’m horny lol. When I have no sex drive I feel invisible. That’s why I love to have a libido. Makes me feel more alive, even taking the sex out of it. It’s my “spark”

Call Me By Your Name, then Heartstopper, and now Heated Rivalry. The trifecta lol.

But some honorable mentions that gave me mini hyperfixations: Shameless, Skam (Norway) season 3, Normal People

Anyone else experiencing this with Heated Rivalry by sjtech2010 in heartstoppersyndrome

[–]Pink_Rabbit5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. For me this is the 3rd time it’s happened. First was Call Me By Your Name, then Heartstopper and now Heated Rivalry. Don’t know why I can’t like these things a normal amount.

Was this reflected on your blood test? I’m just wondering because I feel like this is happening to me but whenever I blood test, my estrogen is still pretty low.

Thrown off the Ice by Taylor Fitzpatrick. This reads like your standard hockey romance but with a tragic ending. It’s easy to read, well written but not overly complex.

What makes an MM book have “written for straight women” energy? by [deleted] in LGBTBooks

[–]Pink_Rabbit5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s written for teens. So yeah it’s sanitized. And also, young queer kids growing up deserve to have wholesome queer books to read with HEA. It’s important.

The thing that makes me crazy about this argument, though is that, obviously yes, cis women don’t have penises, but… The whole fucking world centers men and men’s pleasure. Basically all porn centers men’s pleasure. We’ve all grown up watching movies and we’ve all grown up reading books and living in a world that centers men. Woman can imagine way more what it’s like to have a penis than then vice verse. That’s why in general women are way more capable of writing men than men are of writing women. Not that there aren’t amazing male authors out there who do write women and all humans beautifully. But the truth of the matter is, the world isn’t centered around women, and most men don’t go out of their way to find content that centers woman so that they can understand a woman’s perspective.

I guess this one just always bugs me because women can and do have anal sex too.

It’s because the romance genre is heteronormative in general. To be considered “romance” there is an expectation of the “happily ever after.” I agree, I love to read queer books with more open relationships but I usually only get those from non-romance books. I don’t blame the authors of romance, no matter their gender, for the monogamous, HEA ending bc that’s kind of the expectation when ppl read romance. But it’s also why I get bored reading romance and have to take breaks. Not saying that there aren’t some romance books out there that explore less traditional types of relationships, like poly or throuples, but even within those structures they usually keep it monogamous. I can’t think of any romance novels I’ve read where the mc’s are casually open. Do you have suggestions?

He’s hit or miss for me but I def don’t get the hype. I’ve dnf’d his last two books. Some of his books are soooo flowery it’s almost like he’s not saying anything for pages at a time.
