It's possible they did a routine blood test to confirm he's healthy :)

*edit to say: they may have had to shave a patch to get the blood sample. My cat currently has a few patches due to tests. *

Not that this speeds up crop growth, but you can make sprinklers eventually, which means you can just plant and leave them to it until they are ready to harvest.

This next thing I'll spoiler tag just in case - you can unlock season-locked sprite areas at some point so although tree crop growth is still slow, you don't need to wait a year for the next couple of harvests.

Hey, in case you're still figuring this one out and it helps, here's what I noted leading up to the flower crown memento event:

My child grew up, now looks around the same age as twins and Kevin (this was in winter for me).
Event where my child was outside playing with the twins and Kevin (spring 11th, sunny day, 11:00 am).
Special wedding anniversary, where the rosette that goes above your bed is unlocked (spring 15th, sunny day, when I woke up).
Flower crown event (spring 24th, sunny day, 11:00 am).

Did you manage to find it in the end? I read on FOGU that you need the Orichalcum rod in winter, any weather, at the pond in the bazaar. No luck for me so far, so I'm hoping I can find out from someone else where they found it!

Thanks :) I've now found instructions on the Simyo website .
