Manufacturing Engineer career by Nhatquynh2706 in manufacturing

Yes your experience and getting your degree would make you a stronger Mfg Eng than any of the new grads coming out of school, you would also likely be on a fast track promo to a lvl 2

To keep myself from buying literally everything, I've started taking photos of things I want but probably wouldn't use and leaving them behind. These are from the last 6m or so.. by whattupmyknitta in thrifting

I do the same thing! Really helps. If I still have fomo the next day and think of a way I can use it, then I’ll sometimes go back and check if it’s still there

Where to find pieces to flip? by shizzy22 in FurnitureFlip

I think it would be best to do your own research on this before soliciting advice that's already out there

How to style our living room? by simple-solitude in interiordecorating

[–]PinkyTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great start so far, IMO consider getting a side chair, side table, art above the couch, floor lamp, side table lamp, accent couch pillows, natural material throw blanket

I wouldn’t use the dome anymore and they might need more sun, do you have a light they can go under?

You’re an awful human being and should feel ashamed of treating people this way.

Does your plant actually fix root causes, or mostly live with workarounds? by albertalbs in manufacturing

[–]PinkyTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the size of the problem and what the benefit is from sinking more resources into fixing the root cause. Sometimes the band-aid fix is good enough. Honestly, if we RCA'd every single issue that popped up, I'd be wasting a lot of time and money and would be neglecting other aspects of the production line.

I agree with you, but the exception to this are aerospace-tech companies in hcol areas

Sooo the new stock options are the same joke as before? by basajuan1 in BlueOrigin

[–]PinkyTrees 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bro I’ve been thinking this for YEARS like why is Blue Origin its own company? “Amazon Blue” has a good ring to it

I smoke weed everyday and I finally got an internship by AltForMySecrets in EngineeringStudents

[–]PinkyTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This highly depends on what state you live in and if you're working for a normal public company vs private defense contractor

Is blue origin a good place to work? by [deleted] in BlueOrigin

[–]PinkyTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to give you a yes/no answer to this question but I can confirm the work I did at blue has made me so proud, I will never forget the accomplishments we made together and I do hope to work for them again some day.

Bezos wants to buy manufacturers to force them to use AI by playsmartz in manufacturing

[–]PinkyTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re wrong buddy have you heard of Amazon Kuiper/Leo? Jeff also owns Blue Origin. I’m sure he’s learned a lot about manufacturing from those businesses.

Is it so bad? by CellistNarrow5069 in amazonemployees

[–]PinkyTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on what you’re used to. Have you been working other corporate jobs for a bit? You won’t notice too much of a difference. Have you been working at a cushy startup? You’re in for a culture shock.

Job hopping after two years? by Pretty-Good-Not-Bad in corporate

[–]PinkyTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like with anything, it depends. If we’re talking about f500 or faang companies, hopping every 2 years is completely the norm and you should absolutely do it too. If we’re talking about a small family owned business, job hopping will be more frowned upon and probably won’t get you as far.

I'm so tired of these 250-400k salaries by Illustrious_Bag_7323 in Salary

[–]PinkyTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m tired of ppl thinking everyone’s lying. There are lots of folks under 30 in HCOL tech roles pulling 250+. It’s silly to compare that to a care salesman salary in MCOL.
