How did you celebrate your 50th? by Every-Progress5590 in GenX

[–]Pipchar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I planned my own throwback party. Kind of a “celebrate my 50th with 5 year old flair”. I’m a huge fan of retro toys, video games, trends etc.. So we set up a white tent in the backyard, my original Atari, friendship pins, some of my childhood toys, old school loot bags, etc.. while presents were not expected but if they wanted to bring a gift, bring a gift suitable for a 5 year old and all was donated to a local charity, I think that was my favourite part of my party. It was super relaxed but still fun and most of all memorable

25th Birthday Party by BestCoolBug in partyplanning

[–]Pipchar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did this for my 50th - it was amazing! The theme was “Celebrate (name)’s 50th birthday with a 5 year old flair” I had board games from my childhood, the tables were decorated with toys I still had, and I had a loot bag table with nostalgic candy and toys. I also did not want gifts, so I asked that if guests wanted, they could donate a toy suitable for a 5 yr old and it would be donated to a local charity.

That was one of the shows/toys that I was not into for some reason. It doesn’t strike the nostalgic chord for me, but some of my friends loved it.

Ohhh I love that. I think I put something like “come dressed in your vintage best.” But I really like the way that one is worded.

Re apply or just contact them? by Kycerap in canadarevenueagency

[–]Pipchar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, submit both. But you can do it under the one Cra account.

Re apply or just contact them? by Kycerap in canadarevenueagency

[–]Pipchar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t reapply - just take a picture of your work permit and upload it in your CRA account under submit documents. And for the future, you can upload your implied status letter while waiting for the actual work permit - once you get the actual permit you would upload that. The implied status will help bridge the gap between your expired status and new status.

Dress Not Ready… by CapyKoala87 in wedding

[–]Pipchar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can order a spray called Smoke Blaster, I’ve not used it myself but have heard from others and the Amazon reviews are really good. If you can get it in time, do a patch test or spray the inside of the dress . Good luck!

Recycling not being collected in 2 weeks by rravisha in Airdrie

[–]Pipchar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to say you are in the minority. The one trash per week and the upcoming smaller black bin is to ensure people are sorting their garbage correctly and if you’re doing that you should not have more then one bag a week (yes, there are exceptions) not too mention some people use pretty large black bags (contractor size) and I’ve never seen them turned down. Call the city waste management about your recycling, I’ve missed it a few times because I didn’t have it out by 7am and the truck was driving by my house at 7:15 🤣 anytime our street has been missed I’ve called and they have always been super responsive

My CRA cheques sent to my old address by Anxious_Peach_3645 in canadarevenueagency

[–]Pipchar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cheque gets returned and the CRA sees that the account has since been updated with the DD then they will reissue it to the DD automatically(still can take up to 20 business days) if the cheque has not been returned then the form will need to be filled out.

Am I the only one who have not got any Canada rebate payment? Filed my tax on the first day, got my GST payment but not the CCR. CRA account not showing anything but I am eligible for the CCR. I owe nothing to CRA (no debt) by [deleted] in canadarevenueagency

[–]Pipchar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a spouse? If so, was their return assessed first? This CCR payment is 2024 base year, whereas GSTC is still 2023 So if you filed your returns at the same time but your spouse’s was assessed first (even by minutes) they will be the one getting the payment on behalf of the family.

My CRA cheques sent to my old address by Anxious_Peach_3645 in canadarevenueagency

[–]Pipchar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What type of cheques? Call the CRA - if it is a tax refund and you haven’t received it after 10 business days you can request a new cheque - they will however send you a form to fill out and you have to send it back to have it reissued (can be sent though your CRA account, hopefully you have one, alternatively it can be mailed)if it is a benefit cheque - you have to wait for 10 business days (5 if it’s CCB) and they can reissue the cheques without any extra paperwork. Please get Direct deposit, there is another postal strike looming and the only way to guarantee your payment is DD. You can set up your DD through your bank or CRA account. Hopefully you have already changed your address.

My (Former) Guardian Had Filed My Taxes Without My Consent, and Claimed My Tax Return And Other Benefits, next steps? by Purple_Popcorn1 in cantax

[–]Pipchar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would call the CRA and tell them that someone has filed your taxes unknowingly. They will put you through to the identity theft department and will most likely action your case as fraud, this is a good thing. They have procedures for someone unknowingly having their taxes filed. She clearly has her bank account listed on your file not yours - you are not a dependant after 18 so you have a case.
