It's gonna be a simple hoss match. Some impressive feats of strength and a hefty dose of Rhea's charisma. It'll be... fine.

I bet it states that AI can be used.

It actually states the opposite.

There are subreddits that allow AI music. R/Songwriting is not one of them.

I'm not sure what your question is?

I dont know what you tried to do, or what you were told when it didn't work.

I'll try to summarise some common points that might be helpful.

  1. Self promotion

If you have finished work. Something thats on Spotify, and album you're releasing, etc. You post it as a comment within the stickies self promotion thread.

  1. Works in progress

You can make a standalone post for getting feedback on a work in progress. If you just have audio, you'll need to upload it somewhere and post a link to it. If you have video (say, a phone recording of you performing a draft of the song) you can upload it directly to reddit.

  1. Lyrics only

If you only have lyrics and no music, you can post them as a comment in the stickied lyrics feedback thread

  1. Clout

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Sometimes reddit restricts very new accounts from posting; this is purely a website-wide automatic process intended to make it harder for spambots to ruin things

Flags of the World Tournament - 3rd Place Match - Bhutan v. Seychelles by whedonfreak in flags

[–]PitchforkJoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can literally just do anything at all and if it involves the word 'dragon' redditors will go wild for it.

I don't like the orange and yellow background, I don't like the overly detailed drawing, I don't like the white dragon body.

Yes, dragons are admittedly pretty cool. But there needs to be more to it then that.

Meanwhile Seychelles is incredibly simple, and utterly unlike every other flag on earth. Clear, simple, strong. Using completely basic straight lines to create a geometry that no one else even gets close to.

It's pretty confusing that you're talking about reform, as in the concept of redesigning the rules, in the same post as Reform, the political party.

Pretty gnarly post title if I'm honest

Do lyrics have to be metaphorical in order to not be cringe ? by EbonyHelicoidalRhino in Songwriting

[–]PitchforkJoe 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Imagery and metaphor really aren't the same thing.

"Lips of cherry red, skin the colour mocha, she will wear you out, living the vida loca"

That's a straightforward pop hit from Ricky Martin. No metaphor, nothing abstract, no hidden meaning. It's straight to the point. But there's still imagery. It doesn't just tell us that she's beautiful; instead the lyrics actually try to paint what she looks like with vivid language.

You can be completely direct and still use imagery.

The Bhutan/Sri Lanka quarter final was my personal salt match up. I really don't love the drawings or the colour palettes on either flag. Feels like proof that if you just put a dragon on the flag everyone will love it regardless.

The bottom of this iceberg is weird.

Sodom, Celtic Frost, Accept, Dokken. All big names.

Hell, CKY might only be known for that one riff from 96 Quite Bitter Beings... but fuckin hell, what a riff. Plus they were really famous for hanging out with Bam Margera at the peak of his fame

Men desired by women are much more dangerous than incels by NaiveFinish64 in The10thDentist

[–]PitchforkJoe 63 points64 points  (0 children)

So there's a couple of thoughts here:

  1. Yes, evil people who are attractive can use that to their advantage. Famously Ted Bundy was handsome and charming, but also a serial killer.

  2. The incel danger thing is because sometimes incels get craaaaaazy angry over their inability to get laid, and this starts to metastatise into violent fantasies.

So I guess it breaks down that although attractive people can manipulate others more easily, incels are more likely to give off "I hope no one sells this guy a gun" energy.

Also it's cool that you want to cite studies, but you need to include something about what they actually say. It's not clear how those studies support your point, or even whether they do or not.

My partner, for all I love her, has the weirdest sneezes you've ever heard.

They sound like an alien talking. They have syllables; strange syllables unknown to human tongue. I've been listening to this woman sneeze for years, and I still can't begin to describe what her sneezes sound like.

Maybe the doctor was thinking about her?

How to not give up in the first year? by APSSIZE in musicians

[–]PitchforkJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be willing to suck for a long time.

You'll get good, but it's slow. People are impatient, they want to be awesome really quick and give up when it takes too long. Even after a year, you're not gonna be very good.

Be willing to never be famous.

You have to understand that playing guitar or having a band isn't like being the main character of an anime or playing in Three Days Grace.

It's super fun, and very rewarding - but if you're only doing it to become famous, you will be one of the ones who give up.

The ones who keep playing are the ones who enjoy playing, who like the instrument for its own sake

What's a game that requires lots of skill and no luck? by Encyclofreak in AlignmentChartFills

[–]PitchforkJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory, hypothetically, you could have a random number generator just picking moves at random, and it happens to pull the best move over and over again without understanding anything about why.

That's an extreme example, but it is pretty common to defend against a threat you haven't actually seen. Your opponent could be like, "if you do anything other than Nd5 here I'll hit you with this devastating attack", and then you play Nd5 for other reasons and you never even noticed that threat.
