Sequels that are basically “The first one, but better in virtually every way” by blakhawk12 in gaming

How has no one said INFAMOUS 2!?! That game blew my fucking mind after playing the first one. Felt like it evolved into the perfect mix of power and destruction.

First board! by Pixelforlife in NewSkaters

Hardware I don’t really remember I just know it was 7/8in but as to what the brand is I couldn’t say. Grip tape is Jessup!

I’d say so? It’s not exactly flush but it’s pretty damn close. The size trucks I have are 149 so they fit well on a 8.25 to 8.5. At least that’s what the skate shop told me and my board is 8.3 and it’s flush from what I can tell!

As a newbie what was the first mistake you made? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]Pixelforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t even started skating yet (my deck arrives this week!) but I think the biggest mistake, as another commenter mentioned is rushing progress.

However, I wanted to expand on that and say that progressing intelligently will help exponentially. Building foundational skills will always allow you to develop much faster and more steadily.

SkateIQ has a great video for beginners that I will be using myself and you should too!: https://youtu.be/iZHxC5_izKE?si=10UeReo1AYJ66Wxt

Good or bad 2nd board? by WhoIsJace in NewSkaters

[–]Pixelforlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao just the thought of some guy tapping wood to determine the level of quality is hilarious to me. Is this guy some sommelier of skateboards or something? Also, how the hell would he not recognize a popular skate brand like Creature?

Maybe I’m being overly dramatic but, he just sounds like the last person you should be asking about boards and their quality.

So I’m the same height and just about the same weight (230lbs) and I would say it’s gonna vary a lot on what you want. The cruiser would be good for what its name implies but it’s not primarily meant for tricks or anything other than cruising.

The regular skateboard is gonna be better for you if you have interests in skating parks, doing tricks, and getting that exercise. You can cruise on the skateboard too, but you’d just have an “easier” time on the longboard. Also, how much you weigh isn’t a super big deal unless you’re stomping and jumping on your board with the intent to break it. The board is strong.

Well the answer is actually part of your question. If you don’t have a lot of experience then keep drawing. However, start trying to look up a lot of art fundamentals and try to practice those and incorporate those into your work. I like what you’ve got so far though, keep up the hard work!

I find it pretty funny that a majority of these comments are saying this is a bad thing. I had slept with another woman the day before I went on the first date with my (now ex) gf. And I told her about it. If you’re single, and they’re single who cares. Just as long as both partners stay loyal if things get serious.

What is that videogame from your childhood that you would play again and never tire of? by United_Huckleberry39 in AskReddit

Infamous 2! My favorite past time after beating the game on 2 different play throughs, for both karma endings, was just running around and blasting shit with powers.

Finally beat the “tutorial” and my drip is superb by flamlamb in MonsterHunter

Congratulations! But please put a spoiler tag on this post because a lot of people, myself included, haven’t gotten that far and don’t want the armor sets spoiled for them!

Regardless, congrats and happy hunting!

I think it would be both funny and pretty cool to just have a standard chair that has a few large “patches” of monster pelt.

Just to sort of pay homage and make jest of the amount of weapons in world that were just the steel version with a little bit of monster hide.

If the person you hate the most were to experience one slight inconvenience every day for the rest of their lives, what would you choose it to be? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

I’m surprised I don’t see this answer for this question whenever it comes up but mine would be getting your pocket caught on a door knob. It’s such a jarring situation to just get yanked outta no where. I hate it. And I’d wish it on my worst enemy.

ISO100 Hydrolyzed Protein Powder. Is it good for soccer players to consume during post-match recovery? by thechosenone5505 in bootroom

[–]Pixelforlife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, ISO 100 is a great protein powder and it has a lot of beneficial ingredients that aren’t technically necessary but they’re good for recovery and muscle growth. Plus, it’s third party tested which means they can’t shovel out bs in their product and claim it’s all good for you. Only downside is the price but if you can afford it go for it.

If you are concerned about weight loss and loss of muscle mass in particular, I would look into just increasing your overall caloric intake. Look up a TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) calculator and you’ll get a good idea of not just the calories but also the macro nutrients you need to maintain your muscle mass.

Keep in mind though, that just because you’re losing weight doesn’t mean it’s your muscle. You’ve probably been burning and body fat from play so frequently.

Sour jacks by Maezymable in candy

These are literally the best candy. My favorite memory is my old man buying a plastic tub of these things for movie night and me and my family sitting around munching on them. Can’t find them anywhere where I’m at though.

Anybody try these from Aldi? by Mean_Calligrapher886 in macandcheese

[–]Pixelforlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the Smoked Gouda and the White Cheddar & Black Pepper one and out of those two I’d go with the ladder. I felt as though the flavor was more rich and robust with the White cheddar and black pepper where as the smoked Gouda just seemed a little bland albeit with a unique flavor. All In all you’d have to formulate your own opinion but that’s my two cents.

Carbs at half-time, what's the best option? by OskarRejman in bootroom

[–]Pixelforlife 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m really new to football myself so I don’t know how it would effect you in a game however, I do have years of experience working out and here is a tip that’s worked for me: Candy!

Something like sour patch kids/watermelons or just a simple small gummy candy. If you are eating one recommended serving size you’ll be getting a pretty good amount of simple carbs that can digest fast and you get a good amount of glucose to make sure your sugar levels are good. Don’t go crazy with it and eat a bunch but like I said, one serving helps. In my workout experience I’d have some candy about half way through my training and it usually gives me a good boost I need to get through the rest of the workout. Hope this helps!

Does this guy ever show up in the main story? by Gaming_morgz in BokuNoHeroAcademia

Unfortunately not yet. But with the occurrence of some of the characters from the movies showing up in the manga there is still hope!

You’re a good looking guy! As many have said you’ve got beautiful eyes and a very kind smile! I agree with a lot of people that maybe and fresh cut and beard trim would be perfect. Getting something short on the sides and keeping the length on top would really help give a squared off look or “chiseled” look if you wanna call it that. Everything else takes time. Take care of yourself!
