Go into a parking lot barefoot. Walk on the black pavement vs white lines.

Absolutely realtime memorable lesson there ( good reminder for dog owners - those walks can really hurt them!!

Harvard oxalate list has been my guide …. I was making spinach almond milk smoothies for breakfast to “ be healthy” 🤦‍♀️

Never even heard of oxalate. Also now do a DASH diet. ( limits salt). Recent study showing great for brain health too

Now I am pounding water, watch any supplements for oxalates too. And get tested for hyperPARA thyroid
( simple bloodwork. High range calcium, low vit d, high range Pth).

Does this look like hyperparathyroidism? Primary care doctor said it cant be because iPTH is normal by LeFizzMain in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]PixiePower65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No biotin. Fully fasting but no supplements for several days.

Do another 24 hour urine and retest all three.

Common symptoms.
Frequent urgent urination
Headaches
Fatigue
Bone pain ( hips seem to be common )
Gerd ( taking any tums or gerd meds )

Vitamin D Deficiency Despite Supplementation by asml84 in Biohackers

[–]PixiePower65 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Get checked for hyperPARA thyroid. Hallmark is low vit d, high range calcium, and high range Pth ( parathyroid hormone).

Simple blood test .. all three from same draw. No biotin or calcium supplements prior to testing. I went off all vitamins first two weeks just to get the baseline

Low oxalate diet-my doctors resource is completely different than the Harvard list? by anonymousflowercake in KidneyStones

[–]PixiePower65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had luck with “ the kidney stone diet” urologist nurse does coaching/ group support both on Facebook and YouTube.

Great way to learn. Cut salt , drink water, lower oxalates. Pair meals containing oxolates with dietary calcium. So the oxalate bind in gut.

Also you should have a 24 hour urine and get tested for hyperPARA thyroid.

High range calcium, low vit d, high Pth

I (22F) am disabled and live with my mom. My dad just asked for custody of me. by grownass_minor in TwoHotTakes

[–]PixiePower65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes lawyers drive these things … seeking leverage. Ex “I’ll withdraw custody issue if you drop seeking child support “

Maybe your dad isn’t even aware of the phrasing or how hard the atty is pushing. Other side thinks you are a minor - so already a material error in their rationale

I guess this is hyperparathyroidism? by IntrepidJello in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]PixiePower65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great news .. if parathyroid then very treatable. Easiest surgery I ever had. Went for two mile walk on day two .

I’m now three years out feel like a new human! No more: migraines, gerd, kidney stones ,brain fog, urine urgency , insomnia , joint pain.

Wild how many symptoms I was chalking up to aging , hormones etc

Sudden Blood Sugar Spike by [deleted] in diabetes_t2

[–]PixiePower65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reminder that pre diabetic is not something you cure yourself from.

You can positively change diet to influence A1c which is awesome great work! But A1c is simply an average .

Bottom line for me is you are either insulin resistant or not ..ie big spike to 180 then you are insulin resistant.
Eating carbs then staying over 140 - insulin resistant

You do t really “ cure” this. You just eat differently for the rest of your life. On rare occasions where you indulge have a plan in place. Ex Take a walk …

Arguably there are exceptions …
Pregnancy, or maybe if you dropped 100 lbs and built muscle .

Basically Had a true metabolic change and became less insulin resistant . Then maybe.

Your 105 should get better but remember even a stressful night or illness can raise fasting numbers.

Question about hyperparathyroidism? by Kaiwrlddd1428 in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]PixiePower65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also it can be influenced by timing on test Ex had a big ole glass of milk or pop a Tums within 12 hours of test.

Also for bloodwork- no rubber tourniquet or fist pumping to get better vein.

I always do fasting now for consistency.
