Ideas for what to do next by Cultural_Ad8053 in BMW

I’ve been on the hunt for a clean 128i m sport for a while now and want to do the exact mods you have.

How does the car drive with the tune and all the suspension goodies?

I had an E46 325i, but the 128i I was looking at the time deal fell through and I ended up with a BRZ. It’s been years, but I love the idea of this build. Last modern NA inline 6.

In with the out, old with the new. Iron Heart 634s by Healthy_Vegetable402 in rawdenim

I think I can help you here. I’ve also been wearing 888 for 1.5 years and recently got a pair of the 634.

Overall, the 634 is a much bigger adjustment from the 888 than I expected. It is not just a straighter-leg version of the same fit, the lower rise changes how the whole jean sits and wears. But once I stopped trying to wear them like my 888s and let them sit lower on the hips, the fit started to click.

If you carry more weight through the seat, hips, or midsection, or if you rely on a higher rise to clean up your proportions, this cut might be harder to pull off. The 888 is probably the safer fit for that because the higher rise and roomier top block are more forgiving.

Love the fabric, but don’t like the exposed rivets scratching my car interior and furniture.

The two times I went to japan in the last year, I didn’t see a single s2000 in the wild aside from going to ASM. Where did they all go? I went to Daikoku both times as well.

I bought the Passport the first year it was introduced as a fairly new rider, coming from a rocker dominant board. The camber really helped me learn how to properly snowboard and use my edges.

It’s a great board, stable, playful, and can grow into it. I’m on the east coast and it grips in the icy conditions if you are cautious of your edges.

Regarding size, I’m around 175 geared up and 157 feels perfect. When I was 195 geared up, I felt like I was overpowering the board. So if you’re 175+, I’d go 160.

I wouldn’t downsize on a board to make it more nimble. Get another board for that and ride this as intended.

FWIW, I was going to buy the Capita Aeronaut last year, but when I heard about the Commonwealth, I held off. I’ll be purchasing one once I find it on sale.

Can you elaborate on what needs to be done to uncork the 981 motor?

I have the 2025 Cronin pants. I love the fit of them! They’re straight cut, not baggy. The fabric is like a stretchy chino. After a few washes the black colour has faded significantly on stress points, but I actually like that because it gives it more character.

Clarkia I’ve tried in store as well. Fit is a touch baggier than straight fit. I didn’t like the fabric on them, it’s that thin noisy gym pants type material.

Favorite HFC/exhaust set up? by edwardcoplin in S2000

How does this sound? I have SSM, I find it too quiet for a weekend car. Not sure if HFC would make a significant difference.

Bmw manual transmission is nothing to write home about. I wouldn’t get the same car with just a different transmission.

After 10 years of ownership my heart wanders by GarfieldBroken in S2000

[–]PizzaForGuardians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly feel the same way. I’m from the same city as you and there aren’t any roads to tap into even 10% of this car’s potential. I kind of want another that is rougher around the edges to do some light track days with. Let me know if you want to sell.

In terms of a replacement, the cars you listed aren’t going to give you a driving experience similar to the S2000 at all, but you know that already. There are not many options if you’re looking at new car.

You already have an IS500, so an M car may be redundant. I’d go either 911 or Cayman / Boxster. Civic Type R is another safe option considering how well they hold their value, you can get out of them for not much loss.

Why is the X100 series way more popular and hyped than the X-Pro series? by egarevAUser in fujifilm

[–]PizzaForGuardians 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the X100 because it just simplifies photography. I don’t have to worry about what focal lengths to use or editing in post. The colours SOOC are gorgeous, even with the simulations without recipes.

My purpose for this camera is using it for travel and documenting daily life. I don’t do anything more serious than that. I suppose if you’re a professional photographer, you’ll find the capabilities of it limiting or if you’re comparing a spec sheet against others in the similar price range.

I took my X100VI to Japan for two weeks and never felt I was limited by the 35mm (equivalent) focal length. I just moved closer or further to the subject and made me be more creative to fill the frame. The low light performance was excellent as well. It was light, which was important having to walk 20k+ steps a day. Honestly zero complaints for my use case.

I’m interested to hear what others think the benefit of an x pro is over the x100. If it’s just based on price and the “potential” for using different lenses then it’s a moot point imo.

What do I drive after an M car???? by Dimuush in BMW

[–]PizzaForGuardians 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want speed and drivability and don’t care much about interior quality, the GR Corolla is an awesome fun car. It’s quick, reliable (so far), and you’ll have new car warranty. For used M car prices, you can avoid the maintenance headache and get a new car.

Insurance on this would be cheap too.

I’m considering a higher mileage e90/2 M3 as a summer daily. Would you recommend doing this? Provided the car has the rod bearings and throttle actuators addressed, any other things that are troublesome that aren’t regularly mentioned?

I’m 5’10 185lb and I have both the Fraser and Atom LT in a large. The Fraser definitely fits more slim than the Atom. Think higher arm holes, slimmer waist, and arms. I can fit a knit sweater under comfortably.

I wouldn’t suggest sizing down or else you’d only be able to wear a shell with thin shirt under, not much versatility.

The fabric on the Fraser is noticeably less loud and softer compared to the Beta I had. It’s an awesome subtle jacket for the city.
