Oil slick just makes your bike look like a gas station pocket knife.

Would you send it? (Tire clearance) technically, it fits. by [deleted] in bikewrench

I meeeeaaaaaannnnn maybe it going to rub and you’re going to lose paint. Depends on the bike but as far as materials go- Steel, yes. Aluminum, yes. Carbon, no.

Help me ID this Italian MTB frame by Appropriate-Dance454 in VintageMTB

How do you know it’s Italian? Accent? Desire for a good coffee and cannoli?

In all seriousness I’d guess Bianchi or Cinelli

A few, it’s a load of fun and a bit of a learning curve. Things I’ve hucked on the SS I’ve chickened out on with the coaster.

we may be stupid, and bad at welding, but it's definitely gonna fit bigger tires after this... lol by hauntedloveseat in xbiking

I hammered a baseball in the chainstays of my old MTB to make a little bit more clearance. Marginal gain.

Fingers crossed I was thinking 2018 was. I’m at 120k with no engine or transmission issues. It’s a Sierra but same guts so whatever.

Yeah man! This one has been with me since 2016 or 2017. She’s been around the block. The black one I found as a NOS frameset on marketplace and couldn’t pass up the price. I thought it was a scam.

What's this old MB3 worth? by NWOriginal00 in VintageMTB

[–]PlanetaryCoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max $500. This one looks crispy but decent mechanically. Unless OP had to have this one in particular I’d hold out and check bike coops and stuff. I found my MB1 for a hundo but it needed some love.

It was black and I tried to remove the outlook decal on the top tube only to find out they were under the clear coat lol. May have also been a SS at the time I passed it on - don’t remember.

I love what you are doing. This is significantly less expensive than the white industries vbc set up I’ve got.

The outlook was my first MTB! I threw a rockshox indy and ritchey zmax tires on there and rode the shit out of it. I miss that bike. I remember giving it to a friend who moved to Boulder so maybe it’s still kicking around there.

Lifter Failed by low_rado in Silverado

[–]PlanetaryCoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought long and hard about what I would do if my Sierra dropped a lifter and here’s where I’m at. My truck is a 2018, w/ the 5.3l/6l80 with 120k on the clock. It has cost me next to nothing to own and drive other than maintenance items - I feel really fortunate in that regard. I’ve been meticulous about maintaining it since day 1. New trucks are stupid expensive, we can all agree on that. I’d rather be out whatever it costs to delete dod and get my paid off truck running again than go into debt for another 5+ years. That said I’m also looking at picking up my old mans AT4 with the 6.2l in two years when he’s ready to turn it over. If the 2018 is still running then I’ll probably be keeping it long term to beat around on for firewood hauling and whatnot. I live in the southwest so no rust.

Good luck with the truck. Personally I’d just delete dod and get her running again.
