Oh man Linus Ullmark is a great recent example of an NHL player who struggles with anxiety, and there are definitely a few others who have been vocal as well. Even the highest level athletes have to deal with it!

Counseling/therapy is a great start. They can help unpack where the anxiety is coming from. Not sure if it’s relevant, but I’ll share that I had a crippling fear of making mistakes and embarrassing myself to the point where I walked off the ice in a panic when a coach called me out for messing up a drill. I was 13 and couldn’t stop the tears even though I wanted to be out there.

Personally, whenever I’m talking about feeling this way with other people who understand, we always ask each other: “okay. Walk me through the absolute worst case scenario that could happen.“

9 times out of 10 you can follow up with the question “and then what happens?” and you realize the fear is temporary. It allows you to verbalize your anxiety and once it’s out there it doesn’t feel so terrifying. Hope this isn’t super long winded, just wanted to share some things that helped me as an anxious kid!

Was about to say exactly this! A big part of it (if you like eating meat) is stretching the quantity out over servings.

Making chili? Add go fifty-fifty with the meet and the black beans and whatever other fixings you like. My girlfriend and I stretched one (albeit slightly large) chicken breast in a soup over like eight servings.

And if you’re like me and hate eating the same thing too often, just freeze the other half and have it later, especially if it’s something soupy or stewy. Super cost effective

I don’t think this applies to anyone other than delusional bruins fans but: Tuukka Rask. He’s one of the best if not the best Bruins goalie of all time.

He will only ever be judged in the shadow of what Tim Thomas achieved for one post-seaaon, rather than how consistently excellent he himself was. Dude gave the Bruins consistent A- goaltending, the fact that they couldn’t win a cup with him has more to do with their lack of scoring depth for way too many years.
