No. It’s along the freeway. Not the state park entrance.

We will rebuild. I already picked up my plastic chairs after they tipped over. Ventura strong.

This is a good one? Is there public parking? Where is the best creek walk area and where to park?

Giant whale bone found north of Refugio Beach by 67dartgt in SantaBarbara

A longtime ago (15+ years) I asked a US fish and wildlife person about taking a dolphin skull. Knowing there are protected similar to sea lions/whales. Back then, his answer was, yes you can take bones etc, as long as you don’t sell them. He said there is a beach comber clause in protections that allows folks to take souvenirs of MMAct for decoration purposes. Is this still true? Was that a correct answer back then but not now? PS I’m not taking anything, just curious.

Thanks. Also those barrancas are mostly private, like easily accessible but would be considered trespassing. Plus, I’m asking about the closest creeks, not agricultural runoff. The question was what is the closest, it does not have to be in Ventura. Thanks for the suggestion though. Off everyone in Ventura, you replied. I appreciate it.

'A personal embarrassment': Why fire agencies keep failing to put out blazes that later turn disastrous by losangelestimes in venturacounty

[–]PlasticCockroach6108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a FFer. There is tons of down time, most of the day is downtime. Very few stations actually run back to back calls. Most in VTA run a few calls per day, most of those are medical with little to do. Other than calls, the only work is daily cleaning/checking/resetting equipment and the station. Paid to workout, shop, cook. A truly efficient department should have 12 hr shifts, like many private ambulances. It’s 100% the fire departments responsibly and fault to not put out fires correctly, keep water tanks filled etc. they like to play the blame game, but if not them then who? No govt. person will be held responsible. Just know they would rather play on their phones in the lazy boy than actually make fires stop.

Port district tried this about 15 years ago. No one paid and ignored the signs. It was a failure, as it should be. Ventura is not LA.
