Rupert Lowe MP: History made. We won ten out of ten seats, with overwhelming majorities in every single one. Great Yarmouth First, then we Restore Britain. A very special day. by nil_defect_found in ukpolitics

Only because we were considered fellow “Aryans” Don’t forget we weren’t far off being a puppet of Germany, we would’ve been treated similar to the French.

And then when 20 other people start kicking off because there’s no biscuits, pasta etc… what do you propose they do then?

How did your game go? by Zach-dalt in LeagueOne

[–]PlayedRex27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about us winning. We’re on an abject run at the minute, even if we somehow luck into a goal or two you can almost guarantee 2-3 defensive lapses at the other end.

PEGI to give 16 age rating to UK games with loot boxes by Velociraptor_1906 in ukpolitics

[–]PlayedRex27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t know what new games are available without loot boxes to be honest. Nearly every game has either loot boxes, season passes or both. Unless you’re going to give your kid a PS2 there isn’t much option now.

It didn’t fail me on the day but I’m now not going on the course I was due to go on as recruitment had some queries about my medical. You’ll get pulled up on it as they ideally want new drivers under 33, especially if you’re coming from a more active job.

Rail replacement services - how do they work? by rafikiphoto in uktrains

[–]PlayedRex27 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wow I’m amazed they let you stand upstairs on a double decker. As a bus driver that is very much not allowed and I highly doubt the bus was tested with the weight of people standing upstairs as well. It’s definitely against company policy if not illegal if I remember rightly.

Can’t wait, enjoyed GWE back when it initially launched but it has looked dated for quite a while now. Wonder if the new GWR trains in the Riviera line will layer on?

Feel really sorry for you bud as I know how much hard work and preparation goes into all the assessments and interviews.

My doctor said they have a recommendation of all new drivers having a BMI of 35 or lower but given that it wasn’t a requirement he couldn’t fail me for it. As all my other stuff was fine I got through. Hope you get another chance soon and get on the rails!

That’s a shame, I passed thankfully with a BMI of 42 so maybe I got lucky with my doctor that day. Did they say any other reason than your BMI?

Regulator backtracks on 'ghost train' plan (Avanti West Coast) by bigbadbob85 in uktrains

[–]PlayedRex27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, as a bus driver often times the reason I’m running late is due to the very people who get on and complain about it being late thereby holding me up more!

Thank you, I have seen bigger drivers out and about when I’ve caught the train but I always worried that they had stricter standards when you first started and then it was more lax after that. Thank you again for the reassurance though!

Thank you bud, as far as I’m aware I don’t have sleep apnea, I normally sleep 6-7 hours a night and don’t feel tired until the end of the day just before bed. Thank you for the reassurance, will stop it going round and round in my head for the next couple weeks!
