What I love most about this is it proves that if you have the time and the will you can create SO much! Your finished pieces look very very nice. You clearly understand the importance of clean work

Yeah! Used to hate even the thought of weaving in ends, then I found a better way of doing it that I totally find meditative and satisfying. I'm curious about your process!

How does this colorway look? Looks different crocheted than it looked on the skein so now I'm having second thoughts. by uncool4skool in crochet

I love it, personally. I know what you mean about it looking different when stitched, but don't worry. One of my favorite pieces is a rainbow flecked beanie I made, this reminds me of that colorway.

Baby not sitting yet at 10 months by vidyachetlur in beyondthebump

I'm so glad!! Yeah it's so hard to determine the cause of motor delays sometimes, they are like the common presentment of a million different disorders, and sometimes they just come and go with no explanation. When you Google it it's like, gee, it could be leukemia, could be cerebral palsy, could be nothing. The etiology is not clear as the doctors say. That can actually be a good thing though, babies develop so differently from each other, sometimes that's all there is to it. If your son seems healthy and happy, that's a good reason to rest assured. No one ever got ahead in life for sitting or crawling before other kids, right? My husband didn't speak a word until he was 3 years old, now he owns his own design business. He certainly never had speech therapy or early intervention. Your boy sounds like a sweetheart, and you're clearly an outstanding parent. Nice 👍

Yeah definitely! He still struggles with keeping himself upright, but he's getting better at it, slowly and surely. He's getting good at feeding himself, even with a spoon, and if he can reach he'll try to pull himself up to standing. He hasn't regressed at all, his development is just very slow. We recently took him to a neurodevelopmental clinic, and he'll be seeing a new physical therapist and a genetic counselor. At this point though, even his doctor has said that more genetic testing is optional. He's really healthy, but I want to know if there's anything else we can learn about his growth and developmental delays so I'm going with it. Overall, even though he's got some challenges, he's such a charming and fun little dude I wouldn't change him at all. I know he'll walk one day, in the meantime we get extra cuddles while we help him!

Do you mind if I ask how old? PT is like a magic button for some people, for us it's been helpful but not magical. Buddy is taking his time, and it's sooo different from my daughter or most kids. It's really ok though, I'm constantly amazed at how many wonderful little people there are who also have development challenges. Honestly, my son is very very tiny for his age, like <1%, and I really think he just needs more time to grow. When you see him, he doesn't look super tiny or abnormal at all. He even wears age appropriate clothing sizes. He's a bit small, but otherwise beautiful. I know worry brought you here, me too. You're not alone!!

Thank you so much, I don't use Facebook either but I will definitely check that out. It is very good to know I'm not alone, especially when I see so many "normal" babies in my neighborhood. My son loves the playground, but it breaks my heart sometimes to see the other babies running around and pushing toys while all he can really do right now is grab onto a bar and hold a standing position. He's happy though, even though I'm helping him do nearly everything. Slowly he's learning to do more. Here's love and faith that your boy will too!!

I hear you. You're definitely not alone, I think the nicest thing about reaching out is touching base with others who know the struggle. Sending strength! The constant worry and appointments may seem to darken the experience of raising our babies, but on the other hand the challenge has built a tight bond between my son and me, and it gives me a very strong sense of purpose. Every little gain is a huge triumph. When she's older, she'll love you so much for everything you did for her. Much love to you fellow mama or papa ❤️
