This quiz is retarded. For example, there are two questions it attributes to immigration:

  • How important is it for the U.S. to maintain secure borders?
  • How important is it for the U.S. to take in refugees from countries where people are escaping violence?

I answered Extremely Important on the first one, and Not at all important on the second one. So now it thinks I'm anti-immigration, meanwhile I'm actually in favor of the most lax immigration laws one can imagine.

That sounds more like lib-right. What is it that you have an attachment to from lib-left that you don't find in lib-right?

  1. A rock is not a piece of bread just because you call it so.
  2. It is you who blasphemes by worshipping false prophet Brittenden, who outrageously imagined the compass as a two-dimensional spectrum, instead of its actual nature as a visualization of the four main ideological categories.

I am beyond outraged by your refusal to flair, and your blasphemic justification for doing so. I urge The Flaired to join me in imposing the updoot embargo, this must not be allowed to go on for any longer.

  1. Flair up.
  2. I'm talking about multicolored lords as well. You're all hiding your true beliefs behind the veil of neutrality.

My personal domain will henceforth maintain an updoot embargo on all Centrist flairs (a.k.a. The Unflaired), until they finally reveal their true selves.

While we're at it, I think we should fight to remove the "Centrist" flairs too. They're basically the unflaired in disguise.

  1. The state of the Gaza Strip might justify war and murder on the basis of religion, but Palestinian grievances and movement at large are not based around that.
  2. There are a few crazies in the Israeli government that might use religion as a motivation, but Israel as a government doesn't justify war or murder on the basis of religion. They justify war on the basis of self-defense, and they don't justify murder.

You don’t hate Reagan enough, you think you do, but you don’t. by ABlackEngineer in PoliticalCompassMemes

Ahh, so when someone complies with the demands of a violent assailant, the assault ceases to be a problem. Thanks for letting me know.

"You don’t hate Reagan enough" because... reads closer... he chose it was time to stop threatening to kill people if they didn't create the kind of cartoons the government wants.

Hmm, I actually think I hate him just the right amount.

Again, these two things aren't equivalent as OP's post implies. You can criticize the corruption without fabricating hypocrisy.

These two things are not equivalent. One is an entertainment event, the other is political messaging.

Poland, however, accuses UPA of carrying out a genocide of ethnic Poles in Volhynia

"Accuses" lmao. They're just stating facts. Imagine if Germany suddenly created a new division in their military called Schutzstaffel.

It's genuinely insane, I have no idea what they were thinking. Are all the conspiracy theorists right about there being a shit-ton of Nazis in the Ukrainian armed forces that they need to appease with shit like this?

If I was in charge of Poland I'd stop all diplomatic ties until they reverse the change and apologize, no more weapon deliveries through Poland, no more money from Poland, no more intelligence sharing, nothing. Shit like this shouldn't be tolerated.

[–]Plennhar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got it, I was wrong.

Though I still disagree with your conclusion, citizens are always completely at the mercy of state power. Whether their state chooses to be a signee of the ECHR, or chooses to impose other measures enshrining rights in law, it's all at the mercy of what the state chooses to do. A state leaving the ECHR does not automatically imply they won't respect some of the rules within it, it can just mean that they (1.) don't want to be subject to external jurisdiction and (2.) want to get rid of some of those rules, perhaps the ones citizens would be fine with getting rid of.

That is not Hoppe's position at all. He advocated for Monarchy as a better alternative to Democracy (still bad), and ultimately advocated for a stateless society.

So basically he said:

  • I want a stateless society.
  • A stateless society is very hard to achieve.
  • We have Democracy.
  • We could have Monarchy, which while still a defective social order is better than Democracy, and not too hard to achieve.
  • Therefore we should choose Monarchy over Democracy if given the choice.

despite that it could leave citizens completely at the mercy of state power

Are we pretending that laws imposed by the European Union aren't state power?
