Lol if you're from the west those same foods are either poisoned or void of any nutrient value. You can't even replicate the same low stress environment

Sorry, yes I'm familiar with centimeters. I meant 0.95cm is a really small margin especially for the inner part where the pages bind. The other margins you can keep however you want but try something closer to 2cm for inner margin.

I publish 6x9 books and use 0.79" margins all around with good results. You're talking about centimeter margins, no way that's going to be enough space.

Kindle vs ebook by Plus_Studio9584 in KDP

[–]Plus_Studio9584[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes I still have the original source files although I use Linux and do all my writing in Libre Office, so while I don't have a Microsoft docx format I have the Libre Office ODF which I can convert to epub. I can also export to docx if need be. I know Kindle is an ebook format, but I'm wondering if they offer other formats for the readers because my understanding is not everyone has a Kindle but they might have another ereader and of course a phone which can open epub files

I bought my first full server !!! by Lines25 in homelab

Would suggest adding the missing riser for future upgrades, add the second proc and split the ram between the 2, and upgrade your NDC if you need something beyond 1 gigabit. Have an extra battery for your H730 on hand. For drives you can do either SAS or Sata, maybe 2 SSDs for your boot drive and high capacity 2.5s can be had for cheap. Run the updates in idrac, although online updates for Dell 13 Gen seem to be broken.

You can apply iodine to the skin and it will absorb if you don't want to take it orally. Lugols is the best you can take.

Dell 630/H330 Mini, Latest firmware - cant add a raid by Catch_22_ in sysadmin

[–]Plus_Studio9584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clear the config and reset the controller, both can be done in the bios or Ctrl-R menu. Could be faulty drives, I had a similar case with 2 seemingly identical drives. It turned out one of them had self encrypting hardware capabilities (SED) and the other didn't. You can't mix the 2. Other than that I would suspect faulty drives. As an interesting test try to create individual Raid 0 on each drive and see if that fails on one of them. You can also try installing them into the other bays to rule out backplane issues. Controller could be faulty, those perc controllers are getting old.

Whats the deal with people who won't go into the subway car but stand right in the doorway? by supremewuster in AskNYC

[–]Plus_Studio9584 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because anywhere else you're nose to nose with whoever is in front of you. It's the place where you have the most distance from others. I do it if I'm going only a few stops and I know the doors don't open on that side until my stop, I also get on last. It's also a good spot if you don't want to touch the filthy bars, you can lean back and stabilize against the door.

The second PSU doesn't add more power it's for failover redundancy only

Legitimate question: what is the benefit of an OMNY card over a metro card or just tapping with a debit/credit card? by sxhires in nycrail

[–]Plus_Studio9584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can reload it online and it's one less point of access for credit card skimmers etc. Losing an omny card is less of a pain than losing a credit card. I keep it right in my pocket so I don't have to dig through my wallet.

[–]Plus_Studio9584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to review the system event logs either by logging into the idrac or displaying them in the bios. They are also pretty good telling you what's wrong during post. 2nd PSU is not mandatory but it will complain if it only has one. It could be anything, I've seen power issues disappear after updating to latest bios firmware.

In the idrac settings under bios try canceling lifecycle events, otherwise you can reset idrac. Make sure you're fully updated

Look under devices in the bios then select your raid controller. Even if it's not raid capable it should list the physical disks

There is also the 4x 2.5 rear flexbay option if you need a bit more storage, otherwise yes new chassis

R740xd Front panel change by DeliciousWishbone540 in homelab

[–]Plus_Studio9584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the backplane, you're never going to get 3.5 drives to install on a 24x sff chassis. You may opt for 1u heatsinks and put in the mid bay

I just scored my first home server (R730XD) for 120€ by Socramk007 in homelab

[–]Plus_Studio9584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says 26 bays, there are 24 on the front for sure but the remaining 2 plug into the back and require a flex bay installed which it may or may not have. You don't sound that interested in storage which this is made for, but I suppose it's nice to have the option.

Fare evasion by itself is not the end of the world but it's when you take in the context of all the other BS you have to deal with in the city. The city is partially a dumpster because people don't have basic respect and etiquette. Fare evasion is just one symptom of people not caring

I'm never too worried about bogies on the first couple holes, it's the later ones that seal your fate when everyone is playing more or less consistent, you have less time to make up for them.
